Sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, 15 minutes from Ski Cooper and 30 minutes from Copper Mountain. Sleeps 8 across 4 separate bedrooms (King, Queen, 4 Singles). The Space:

A 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Leadville, Colorado — 15 minutes from Ski Cooper, 30 minutes from Copper Mountain.

The private hot tub sits on the back deck with mountain views overhead. The non-chlorine system keeps it ready year-round. A gas grill and outdoor dining area share the deck — sunset grilling with the mountains in front of you.

Inside, the gas fireplace anchors the living room alongside a Smart TV. A dedicated workspace with WiFi handles remote work between ski runs or trail days.

Bedroom 1 (Upstairs): King bed

Bedroom 2 (Upstairs): Queen bed

Bedroom 3 (Upstairs): 2 Twin beds

Bedroom 4 (Downstairs): 2 Twin beds

Bathroom 1: Full bath with tub

Bathroom 2: Full bath

Bathroom 3: Full bath

Kitchen: Full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and hot water kettle. Pots, pans, cooking basics, dishes, and silverware included — set up for group cooking.

Laundry: In-unit washer and dryer — pack light if you're staying the week.

What this home does well:

— Hot tub with mountain views on a private deck at the end of a cul-de-sac

— 15min to Ski Cooper, 30min to Copper Mountain — real ski access without resort-town pricing

— 4 separate bedrooms across 2 floors — everyone gets their own space

What to know before booking:

— No air conditioning — at 10,000 ft, Leadville stays cool year-round, even in summer

— Not pet-friendly — no exceptions

Guest Access:

The entire home is yours — all 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, deck, yard, and hot tub.

Self check-in with a smart lock — your unique code is sent before arrival. No key exchange, no waiting.

Free parking on the premises. Street parking also available if you have multiple vehicles.

The Neighborhood:

Leadville is one of the highest incorporated cities in North America at 10,152 ft — a former silver mining town with a walkable Main Street full of restaurants, bars, and local shops. Doc's Place sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential neighborhood just minutes from downtown.

What's a short drive:

» 5min — Downtown Leadville / Main Street (Harrison Ave)

» 15min — Ski Cooper (400+ acres, uncrowded)

» 15min — Turquoise Lake (swimming, kayaking, fishing)

» 30min — Copper Mountain

» 30min — Mt. Elbert Trailhead (highest peak in Colorado, 14,439 ft)

» 40–55min — Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone

The Mineral Belt Trail — a 12-mile paved loop around Leadville — is accessible by car in minutes. Ideal for running, biking, or a morning walk with mountain views the entire way.

Leadville offers real mountain-town character at a fraction of resort-town pricing. Most guests come for skiing or hiking and leave planning a return trip.

Getting Around:

You'll need a car — there's no public transit or reliable rideshare in Leadville.

From Denver (DEN): ~2hr drive via I-70 W to Hwy 91 S. The route crosses Fremont Pass (11,318 ft) — check conditions at cotrip.org in winter. AWD or chains recommended Nov–Apr.

From Eagle/Vail (EGE): ~1hr drive, less mountain pass exposure.

Once here, downtown Leadville is a 5-minute drive. Ski resorts and trailheads require driving (15–55 min depending on destination).

Free parking on the premises.

Other Things to Note:

License Number: 2026-120

Hot tub: 4-person capacity, non-chlorine system. Located on the back deck.

No pets allowed — this property is not pet-friendly.

No air conditioning — Leadville sits at 10,000 ft. Summer highs average 65–75°F.

Altitude: Leadville is one of the highest towns in North America. Drink extra water, take it easy your first day. We cannot offer refunds for altitude-related issues — consider travel insurance if you're concerned.

Trash pickup is Friday morning — roll the bin to the curb if staying through the weekend.

Check-in after 4:00 PM, checkout before 10:00 AM. 8 guests maximum.

The home is family-friendly but not childproofed.

Our whole family (9) of us found the property adequate and well-appointed. The property contacts were very responsive and friendly when we had some very minor problems to report. This was our third time staying at this property and we would stay here again.

March 2024 Visit

Great property that suited our family very well! We had one small issue with the hot tub that was resolved very quickly by property management (very responsive and easy to communicate with). The only negative was no garage access to park cars to avoid cold/snow and have easier access to the house...parents are older and were having to navigate icy/snowy front steps to enter house...we would like to have known that prior to booking as the garage parking was assumed from the exterior pictures and an amenity we were looking for. Otherwise, great place and would recommend!

Weekend MTB Race

We visited Leadville for a HS mountain bike race and had an excellent time. The property was a perfect base for our excursions, and we loved being tucked away in the forest. If there's another race in Leadville next year, this will be the first place we consider staying.
