This property was very nice and definitely secluded, however this property was reserved for a group of motorcyclists going to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. During the initial rental search, we found that the property was on a gravel road and up a steep grade with seven switchbacks.. We contacted the property manager 2 different times and was reassured that they have had motorcycle riders there before and should not be a problem at all. Upon arrival to the property, we found a very steep gravel road that was very rutted with very deep loose gravel and the switchbacks were extremely rutted. We tried to negotiate the road anyway with 3 of the riders barely making it up, one cyclist wrecked, one even had to be trailered up, and this is a group of very skilled veteran riders. The next day we tried for several hours to reach the property manager with no success. When he did finally respond, he simply stated that we should have checked the map better and that we knew about the steep road. At this point we tried to negotiate the gravel hell back down the mountain and when we finally made it to the bottom, we asked a few of the neighbors if we could park in their side lot. They informed us that we were not the first group this has happened to and that this unscrupulous property manager will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to rent their property. I would strongly advise any motorcyclists to avoid this property, it just is not safe for bikers and for that matter, any sports car or low profile automobile. We also found out the county only maintains the first couple miles of this gravel road and it is up to the property owners to maintain the rest. They generally do a very minimal amount to just keep them passible, because the people who live there don't care for the renters visiting these VRBO's. So if you are on a bike, or low profile sports car, I would definitely steer clear of this one.
