My experience started with a request to change our reservation date due to coming down with COVID. After multiple communications with VRBO manager/owner they were unwilling to give a refund 7 days prior to arrival for COVID situation or apply/transfer fees already paid to a new date, but would give 50% off a new booking if I fully cancelled original booking (losing 3 nights of paid fees). It took 4 follow-up requests to get 50% money back from rebook. I had to ask for code to house to get in due to no new check-in info for rebooking, toilet pump not working so kept running unless we manually fixed it, ants in house, no trash bags made available other than 1 single in kitchen, broken dishwasher, left condiments in refrigerator from prior guests, trash across front of house had blown out of overfilled trash bins, which we picked up as we arrived. We booked from out of state to be near the UNMC hospital for a medical procedure for my mom and I was hoping for a better experience with a bit more compassion.
