A disappointing choice in downtown Lappeenranta

Hotel and decor are old and very dated - badly in need of updating. No AC and only so-so window ventilation so it was imperative to sleep with the window open but hotel was located above a bar/nightclub so was very noisy from midnight to about 4am. Extremely limited parking. On the plus side, it was centrally located so hotel was within easy walking distance to a number of restaurants in the downtown area. I would not recommend this hotel until it is updated with at least air conditioning and soundproofing from the downstairs bar/nightclub.

It was Family visit for an event, Hotel is very old, needs renovation soon, Room and bedding were ok, but bath room and toilet were stinky (some odd smell). Fittings were average. I booked this at last moment and it is not value for money.

HAD THE SAIMAA FOR MYSELF

Cumulus Hotels seem slightly expensive for a single traveller, considering the fact that a fancy Vanteon Hotel at <imatra charges about the same. However, the Karelian pastries that one gets for breakfast more than compensate that. The staff are extremely helpful and polite, the rooms clean and tidy and extremely comfortable. The location is also excellent. 10-15 minute walk with luggage to the train/bus station and 10 minutes to the fortress for the most amazing view of the Saima. My advice, stay at Cumulus and do a half day trip of Imatra

extremely helpful front desk staff

There are a lot of positives about this hotel. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel has a good location fairly close to the airport, the train station, and the small downtown area. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Everything you could possibly want was included, and my family and I enjoyed the decor of the restaurant. The room was on the small side and wasn't fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom would be uncomfortable for a large person to use, and it could use some updating. However, if we return to Lappeenranta we would be happy to stay there again.

Do they no how to service a room?

I stayed three nights and my bed and my bathroom were serviced in such a poor way (linen non properly aligned, towels literally thrown inside the tiny bathroom) that I had never seen before. I will stay away from this place next time I have to go to Lappeenranta again.

Бывший Cumulus. Хороший отель, очень его любим. Жаль, что работает последний месяц и - на реконструкцию. Внутри все старое, но этим он и интересен. Последний раз мы были в нем 9 лет назад и ничего не изменилось. Также здорово сидеть в ресторане или заглянуть в бар. Очень приятный персонал. Номера очень чистые. Было немного прохладно, батареи едва тёплые, но нам без проблем дали второе одеяло. Приличный завтрак, хороший выбор. Раньше завтраки были лучше, но сейчас по всей Финляндии они стали заметно скромнее. Отель в самом центре городе. Оттуда приятно прогуляться в крепость или на озеро. Зона сауны бассейна требует обновления, но все работает без нареканий. Вода в бассейне прохладная. Парковка была совсем пустая в дни нашего проживания, не было пробоем. Буквально за углом кафе со шведским столом Rax, и кафе всемирно известной сети Tako bell
