The rooms and amenities haven't been updated in decades, multiple things broke in my room during my visit that the maintenance team was unable to take care of, the garden was dirty and lots of the common areas were either non functional or effectively abandoned.

The second half of my reservation was not honoured because the hotel got a higher price due to Xmas demand. This was despite the fact that the reservation was confirmed and fully paid.

Stayed 2 nights. Cleanliness was ok. Room was clean. Bedsheets were clean and bed was comfortable. Room size was fine. The white shower walls were not clean. They had marks on them which I was able to wipe off with wet wipes. Hot water worked in the shower. Air condition made a lot of noise. We had to switch it off. Staff were great. I had to ask for an iron 3 times, however every other query was attended to straightaway. The team were really helpful. Breakfast was good. Nice ambince. Cutlery was heavy snd expeneive looking. Freshly made omelette were delicious. The guy playing the guitar, Charles, was a lovely touch. Gym was being renivated do we had no access. Main issue occurred on the 2nd night when there was some sort of party. Being woken up by base from music at 12am is not ideal. We called reception and even went down. They said it would be over soon. It wasn't. It's a 5 star hotel and the least people expect is a good night sleep so if you're going to have a party tell the guests when they book so they stay somewhere else if they wish, or make sure your rooms are soundproof. Neither happened, hence my score and I'm being generous as I was so annoyed if I had filled this in on the day it would have been lower. Would have given 4 stars out of 5 if not for that.

Friendly staff and nice location by the lagoon. The hotel seems to hosts a lot of events! Room for improvement on updating the property especially since it’s near the water! The outdoor area needs revamping!

Biggest improvement area is on the staff side. They are clearly poorly trained with little regard for proper etiquette. Additionally, the food (especially dinner) leaves much to be desired.

Whilst I was satisfied with the service I received at the hotel. I think this is a legacy hotel with just the name keeping it going- hotel to me seems stuck in the 1980’s. Hotel needs complete renovation to bring it up to date with current, Morden and merging hotels around. Perhaps the target is more for the older generation.
