We loved our stay at The Hotel Higashiyama. It is a quiet escape from the crowds at Gion, but only a 15-20 minute walk from the area. The hotel staff are so sweet and helpful with calling a taxi or arranging luggage forwarding. Breakfast was excellent. 10/10 would stay again.

Beautiful quiet hotel in a great area. Loved that we could walk to Gion in 15 minutes. The shuttle to Kyoto station was a nice perk. The private Onsen was great as well.

The location was great because it was a short walk to the Chionin Temple (just turn left on Jingu-Michi) and the old quarters of Kyoto, but it was quiet and felt out of the most congested areas. We loved walking around at night. Breakfast was delicious. Umbrellas were provided on rainy days, room amenities were useful! Thank you!
