If I could give a 3.5 I would. Here’s the rundown.
1. It’s old and a little outdated. If you don’t mind outdated furniture and carpet-ignore this part. The positive-all appliances seem new! Also, old doesn’t mean dirty! Everything was clean.
2. The patio has an air handler on it (not pictured). The very hot air and noise makes the patio nearly useless. BUT-without it the condo would be unbearably hot, so it is what it is.
3. Ants. I messaged the property manger about the situation and she said it’s a tropical area and just comes with being here. She prefers to not use harsh chemicals and the pest control company was just there. Well, spend 5 minutes in the kitchen and you’ll see that this is more than a small issue. We had ants on literally anything left on the counter. They are in the cabinets and drawers. Found them in our water bottles, my purse, I mean it when I say everywhere. Gross.
Now, with that, we were only there 2 nights. There is no way the issue could have been fixed for us. The property manager was responsive and was in no way rude, and we are in an old building in a tropical environment. This is probably just a common issue, but is a big no for me. This is the reason for bumping to a 3 star instead of up to a 4.
Overall-great location, affordable, well stocked, and responsive host. Just an old condo with some extra Hawaiian character.
