The pictures make the villa look bright and cheery. It is not. It is run down and old and not worth the money. We chose this property because it allowed pets, so I knew it might not be luxurious, but truly it is sad and run down. The owners should be embarrassed to rent this place. I am sure they would never themselves stay at a place in this condition. It smells. The carpet is stained. The closets are broken. The door knobs are loose. The light bulbs were burnt out. The curtains are torn. The shower curtain is stained. The furniture, including all of the beds, is worse than anything you would find at a garage sale. It is stained and sunken-in. The mattresses in the extra room are joke. They are so old that the springs make so much noise nobody could ever actually sleep on them. Maybe the saddest feature are the barren walls. When wall hangings have broken, they have not even attempted to replace them. In at least a dozen places all that remains in the walls are the nails and hooks sticking out of the wall where apparently there had once been some type of decor. During our stay, we returned to the villa to find a small picture had fallen off the wall. When we examined it more closely, the frame had previously broken and had been mended with Scotch tape. Pitiful! For our entire month-long stay, there was construction in one of the villas in our building. Even though it was an inconvenience for us, (they turned off our water and a building inspector walked into our villa unannounced), at least it did show some owners take pride in their property and are attempting to make improvements. Truly, I don’t know how the owners of this villa can in good conscience continue to rent out this property.
