The community pool and club house were beautiful and we enjoyed the short walk there from the house with our kids many times. The house was nicely furnished in a nautical theme but lacked a lot of essentials. There were no dressers or drawers in either bedroom to store any clothing. The kitchen did not have any sheet pans or oven safe dishes for heating up food in the oven. There was also no home manual to explain anything. We did not have instructions on where to dispose of garbage, hours of the pool, gym etc. There was no information whatsoever on anything. I’ve rented many homes in the past and have never encountered this before. There were multiple issues with the wi-fi throughout the stay which we believe was due to an outage in the area.
We had the unfortunate experience of ants coming in the front door and into the living area beginning the day after we arrived. We also found ants coming into the kitchen and both downstairs bathrooms. (Please note that this part of the review is based on the management company that we had to deal with). It was unfortunate that this impacted our entire trip.
I called vacasa to report the problem. I was told I would hear back from someone within an hour to remedy the situation. That hour came and went and I never heard from anyone. Later that day I called vacasa again. After speaking with multiple agents, I was told that my “ticket” was mistakenly sent to a maintenance person who was off that day. After multiple phone calls and finally speaking with a local manager, they were able to get a substitute maintenance person to install ant traps inside the home and spray around the perimeter. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem and the ants continued to be a nuisance. The following day I was back on the phone with vacasa to explain that we were still having an issue. They basically told me that they did not think they would be able to get an exterminator there before the end of our stay. At this point we were considering moving out of the home. The option they offered for another location was not comparable to our current location and would not have worked for our family. At this point we asked for compensation for the hassle this had caused.
After hours on the phone for multiple days with multiple people from vacasa, this was certainly not how we wanted to spend our vacation. Vacasa gave us partial compensation for all of the trouble but I would never rent a home managed by vacasa again.
