What can I say that hasn't already been said? From the time you enter the massive fortress doors, you are ushered into paradise. The staff is top notch--nothing is too small or overlooked. The rooms are massive and I'd recommend an ocean view room at the very least. Waking up to the ocean from your double glass French doors is spectacular. The food here is excellent and they do a wonderful job of changing up the dinner option nightly. For me, I had no desire to leave the resort, however Galle is a 15 minute tuk tuk ride away. There is a train station stop about 1km away which, if you are coming here from Colombo-- there is a first class train that stops here ( just buy your ticket to Galle and continue on 3 or 4 stops to Koggala, then catch a tuk tuk to the hotel). The spa is wonderful and they always have some daily special. For the price this place is wonderful! It's quiet and mostly adults at the resort which was nice. 5 stars to the fortress resort and spa-I will definitely be back again someday!
