Exceptional property!

Pictures are accurate and can’t really capture the beauty of the view and outdoor lanai area!Very comfortable home. AC in bedrooms worked well at night. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals. Grill is hard lined, so no worry about propane level. Plenty of dishes and serving platters/bowls. Pool and hot tub (not jetted, but nice and warm) stay very clean with whatever filter system they use. Opening up all of the doors on all sides when you’re home is lovely! Outdoor dining table is perfect for meals during sunset. Path in front of home to Queen’s Bath (small beach) is easy and a great place for a nice swim (watch out for urchins!).Very convenient to airport, Costco, Target, groceries, restaurants/shops on Ali’i Drive. Washer/dryer worked really well. Great pool towels and flat, sand free beach towels provided. Big closet with beach/pool equipment/toys left by previous guests (we contributed, too!). Check closet before renting any equipment. I was worried that pond/fountain would mean more bugs, but that wasn’t a problem at all. Sound of water flowing over rocks and into pond is so relaxing. We felt very safe in the gated neighborhood. Having a code (rather than keys) for all of the doors was very convenient. Communication with management about any questions we had during our stay was very efficient and thorough. Loved this home and highly recommend it!!

Kona bay drive paradise

Very nice place .well equipped. As advertised.Hot tub didn’t work but everything else was in working order and very enjoyable.I would rent this place again for sure and tell anyone else looking at it to “ just do it”!

A Relaxing Stay

We absolutely enjoyed our VRBO. The property was perfect for our stay. It was within walking distance of downtown, beautiful sunsets, whale watching and a perfect walk everyday to the beach.

Wonderful Location

We have stayed in many Kona Bay properties and this house has one of the best locations. Wonderful to be able to open the house up for the ocean breeze and sound of the waves. Large house with plenty of open space. Pool was nice. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location

House was in a beautiful oceanfront location with beautiful lava rock shoreline and a small beach area nearby. Near downtown Kailua Kona and plenty of restaurants, etc. Rules about AC/wearing shoes may seem unreasonable but weren't difficult, left sandals at door. Living area was best left open. Management was very responsive when WiFi not functional, etc. Would definitely recommend.

Great location, nice home

RE Company did a great job, and house was clean and well stocked. Only negative was the house has a walkway in front with about 5 groups per hour that walk by (mostly neighbors or other renters), but it takes away from the oceanfront privacy. In spite of that, I'd stay here again :-)

Pebbles Ohana Celebration

A wonderful home and very amazing property. We felt the Aloha the minute we walked through the entry. We've been coming to the Big Island for over 25 years and have been to many properties. This home is by far one of my top new favorites. We celebrated moms 90th Birthday and It was just a wonderful experience. The ocean waves, the awesome sunsets and ohana. What more could you ask for. Paradise

We loved this property. Previous reviews had some negative comments and I didn't experience anything negative. House is well stocked and very clean (it is on the ocean so a little corrosion and rust is normal to me) Open air (all doors worked perfectly). Pool is very clean, hot tube could be warmer but the weather was warm when we were there so it was not a negative. I wish there were more bar stools for the kitchen and maybe a second couch in the main living area. I would definitely book this house again, we rent at least two houses per year in the Kona area and this is the first house I would do a repeat stay at.

Blue Water - Kona Bay House

Excellent location! Master Bedroom is huge with two smaller bedrooms with their own bath. Another room with two twin beds above the master with no bathroom, that could be separated from the master. The house has potential to be open air, but some of the sliding tracked doors are inoperable preventing a crosswind from cooling the main floor. When we arrived the dishwasher was inoperative, as was the under-cabinet ice machine, and the refrigerator had intermittent issues and never really cooled the contents to the set point, and a one point was up to 50F. Pool was not heated, but the hot tub was between certain hours. Hot tub jet pump was either working improperly, or too small to actually produce jetted flow that one would expect out of a hot tub. The rental company was very quick to respond to the issues that we found upon check in. We had a lot of fun and were able to entertain comfortably throughout the week. We stayed with two other couples for a week.

Great home

We love the house. The kitchen was excellent. The pool was absolutely filthy with significant layers of dirt on the floor. The water was green. We called to get the pool cleaned and he simply came and skimmed the top of the pool. Very disappointing. The listing does also not mention that there is a walkway along the beach directly behind the property. Numerous people walked by the house affecting the privacy of the pool. Well stocked kitchen.

1990's luxury gone to seed

We stayed 4/20-26 and enjoyed great weather and the fantastic setting and location. The property is a few minutes walk from Keiki Beach (it's not ON Keiki beach, as we were lead to believe by the description), and offers beautiful views of the ocean. We would love to return if the property was properly renovated and updated. It may have been a luxury residence in the early 1990's, but its prime is long past. The oven and grill work well. The area is quiet, and convenient to lots of shopping and dining. As is it, the VRBO photos and description are deeply misleading. This is an entirely open-air building/home, so entry to the bedrooms is similar to a motel, which is not very secure or safe. Although there is a number keypad entry, the side yard has only a flimsy non-locking gate that anyone could stroll right into. At night the grounds get quite dark, and I was always uncomfortable and felt unsafe. The beach is a public beach with many access points right through the gated community. In short, this is not a safe or secure property. We ended up having our children sleep at the very top floor, which meant they had to traipse through the master bedroom at night to use the bathroom. The sliding door off the master does not lock. The swimming pool water is murky and the liner of the pool seems to be detaching in some places. We had to contact the maintenance people immediately upon our arrival as the freezer had been left ajar by the cleaning people, and the fridge and freezer were not working properly. When the maintenance people arrived, they admitted that the compressor on the unit is a known problem, and they have a new freezer/fridge on order. All common surfaces (bannisters, cabinets, door handles) are sticky and have not been cleaned. All kitchen utensils are low-end and badly in need of replacing. The A/C units work, but do not adhere to the time settings claimed by posted signs or the maintenance people. We often woke to stifling temps and no air circulation. Lastly, there is what appears to be a mosquito breeding program in the the entryway pool. It looks like it was previously a koi pond, but is now an oozing, green swamp. There are many new teak/dark wood doors in the living area, but signs told us not to open them. Even if they did open, I can't imagine anyone wanting to open the doors that lead to that algae and pond scum.

Beautiful location, very clean home.

Everything was extremely neat and tidy in the house, all appliances working properly and access very easy via keypad locks. As it is an ocean-side house the emphasis is on furnishings and finishes that can hold up to the salt air, humidity, water and sand. That said, everything was in good condition yet not terrifically comfortable. Patio furniture for the living area (pretty typical for rentals in Hawaii) and no large rugs or carpets, and no extraneous furniture like lamps in the downstairs living room creates the feeling of just hanging out on a patio. The views and location are what you’re there for anyways and with all the activities the island offers, how much time would you spend being a couch potato anyways? Thanks for the wonderful week!

A Perfect Week at Blue Water

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was wonderful from beginning to end. You even arranged for gorgeous weather everyday. We were there with only one of our sons and his family but are already talking about coming back with everyone.

Worth mentioning for those that might be looking for 4 bedrooms that the media room can be accessed directly and that there is a downstairs restroom and outside shower. The setting is really incredible and the place is very quiet and feels very safe. The rooms are spacious and the communal space is fantastic. Really very happy. The only slight disappointment I would say (and I have seen this mentioned in other reviews) is that the spa really isn't even or ever gets luke warm. In fact the swimming pool is the same temperature. I suspect that it maybe needs the heating on all the time and a cover.

We arrived on 9/1 to a dirty pool, fans not working and a fridge that was not working. I must say that Mackenzie tried her best to rectify the problems including a small return on rental fee, but this house is not what it is advertised. Great location with spectacular views but would not rent again, not only due to the above mentioned problems but it is a property in need of some upgrade and care. No air conditioning so if the trades are not blowing fans are needed. We also had some valuables go missing requiring a police report. All in all this could have been spectacular, however, would suggest finding another property for the money they asked.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: this house was very lovely and was in a perfect location on the ocean in a gated community. The house was very clean, three very nice bedrooms as well as a nice loft area with two beds, that could be accessed through a separate living space in the master suite. The only thing I would say I did not like about this home was that, but for the living area, kitchen area and outside, there was no real space for everyone to congregate. Both the separate living area, and nice balcony were part of the master suite, so if you did not have the master, there was no balcony off the other bedrooms. Also, although this did not bother us, there is no air conditioning, which I believe is common in Kona, but it was unnaturally hot there when we visited, so it was a little uncomfortable at times, but the house is so open, I cannot image that one would want to close it up and turn on the air. But it is something to be aware of.
