The hotel needs to do better

I was so disappointed and s glad that I only stayed for 1 night. Our room smelled like cigarette & we booked a non smoking since we were travelling with kids. The carpet was super dirty and the rooms had a funny stufffy smell. The kids couldn’t swim because the pool was dirty. There was no preparation whatsoever and it’s like the hotel wasn’t expecting any guests from the way it looked. The stuff is amazing and friendly but the rooms ? They can do with cleanliness and some fresh scent.
