Our stay was below expectations. The property was dusty throughout, and the living room sofa was visibly unclean. The listing also failed to disclose that the unit required climbing two flights of stairs, which was extremely difficult with carry-on luggage and two senior travelers.The floors, kitchen island, and bathroom were dusty upon arrival, making it seem the property had not been properly cleaned. There were several maintenance issues, including a loose toilet seat lid, an old and sticky carpet, and scratched, worn cookware. The washer and dryer were not usable. The laundry room appeared neglected and covered in dust, and the washer door was broken and simply placed on top of the machine, which was misleading for a property advertised with laundry facilities.The only positives were the bedrooms, whose window AC units cooled the rooms quickly, and the convenient location, about a 10-minute walk from Grove Street PATH station.I encourage VRBO to conduct more thorough inspections before allowing properties to be listed. Guests depend on accurate listings when making travel plans. I shared photos of all these issues with the host, who promised the property would be cleaned the next day, but no one ever came. Given the undisclosed issues, poor condition of the property, and the stress and inconvenience we experienced during the first days of our stay, I believe some form of compensation is warranted.
