Beautiful hotel, poor service

This hotel is beautiful. We chose a room in the middle of the price range, and it was wonderful with an extra seating area and a stunning bathroom. The service, however, did not match that quality. After we checked in, I tried calling housekeeping to ask for more hangars (only three in the closet for two people for four days) and glasses. Phone didn't work, so I went to the front desk to ask. Nothing happened, so the next day I found someone from housekeeping and was promised the items would be sent right away. Nothing happened. I gave up and draped my clothes over the closet rod. The glasses, even in our bathroom, never once were changed during the four days, so we rinsed them out as best we could. Wifi never worked. Breakfasts were adequate, nothing special. The only truly good service was in the rooftop restaurant where we enjoyed pleasant dinners.

Nice, Comfortable hotel

We stayed for three nights as part of a visit to Jaipur and Agra. The hotel is beautiful, it is lavishly furnished and recreates a sense of days of old. We arrived late at night and had been given a twin bedded room rather than the KIng sized bed we had booked. In the morning, after a disturbed nights sleep due to sleeping in a single sized bed I requested a room change which at first they told me was not possible due to the hotel being full. After an unnecessary heated discussion the room change was made available. The following lunch time food in the restaurant was from a limited menu due to staffing issues which meant we couldn't eat what we would have liked. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and good quality. Wifi was very poor. It was a comfortable stay but a little spoilt by not being given the room that was booked and then argumentative reception staff not wishing to change the room.

Good location. We were in a standard room a floor below the terrace and unfortunately it was very noisy at night with tables and chairs being moved. One of the bed covers did have a mark on it. The staff were helpful and checked that you were happy with everything.

Wonderful service in a beautiful hotel

My second stay here and I'd recommend this hotel without a doubt. The staff are friendly, professional, courteous and try their very best to accommodate guests' requests. The breakfast buffet was great, everything looked fresh and clean and it was nice to have the garden just outside the restaurant. Shahpura House is ornate and a one-of-a-kind place :) Stay here if you're in Jaipur.

Honestly one of the best hotels EVER.

Lovely decor although a bit stuffy. Very clean. Bathroom is a thing of joy. I believe the Internet is fast but I can’t remember. Staff is courteous and thoughtful. They cleaned my room in the morning and again when I went out again in the evening without being asked. Very thoughtful. Stuff is also informative and helpful. Nice breakfast selection. Nice pool and spa. Very reasonable taxi prices. Will definitely stay there again

Best hotel experience ever. It's not the most luxury nor biggest one I've ever stayed. However, you can feel how much hotel staff cared for the guests. Also, the hotel has a very unique, beautiful and cozy environment which make you feel comfortable just like home.

Raj Palace that’s a living, breathing residence

Raj Palace that’s a living, breathing residence. We spent almost an hour exploring every nook and cranny in this amazingly beautiful, historic property. The staff simply wanted to do everything for you, ultra clean, bedroom appeared dated upon entry but was very, very comfortable with all modern amenities. Buffet breakfast was very good. Did not use spa services, hotel shop very fair value for price. Plenty of bottled water, no charge and local fruit only a phone call away. We hired a car to pick up at 00:30 (12:30am) to drive to Taj Mahal and then to New Delhi - Upon request this hotel had a fresh travel breakfast ready for the two of us when we checked out. They also helped out with translating with local cab drivers. Going from the Taj Mahal Towers in Mumbai (5-Star best hotel experience) to Shahpura House was like time traveling but still having an amazing hotel experience. We plan to visit Jaipur again and would stay here, no hesitation. Probably would pay for a higher level room with a terrace. I am so excited to share this review-these people get everything just right - different from the Taj, in a good way.

Awesome hotel

This hotel is located in a residential area. The entrance is unimpressive, but inside, it can rival any 4 star hotel. It is impecably clean! The hotel is a heritage building so it is full of character. It is beautifully done up! the areas for improvement are the towels and beddings. If these can be upgraded to international standards, it would be excellent. Bathroom fittings are hansgrohe! There are 3 restaurants within this hotel, and both local and western cuisine are available. Although this hotel is set in a residential area, I strongly recommend it for anyone who wants 4 star comfort and does not eat to stay in a typical international chain.

Exceptional experience

This hotel is a must experience, old castle was rebuilt into a hotel- boutique, the rooms are so beautiful and clean, decorated Indian royal style. Bathrooms are spacious, clean, with marble counter tops and floors. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. The hotel itself is so beautiful, after the check-out we spent another hour just wandering around and looking at all the beautiful decor. We were there for just one night and I can’t wait to go back and spend more time there.
