We had an absolute blast on our trip out west! Of course, we were going to Yellowstone. This condo is located within easy reach of the west entrance of the park. Additionally, Island Park is not overly touristy like West Yellowstone, MT. Another plus.
The accomodations were very nice! Very cool at night (most of the time, actually) so we could sleep with open windows. Was wonderful to have a full kitchen with everything one would need to prepare meals, which we did for breakfasts (pancakes on the griddle!) and all but two dinners. If you will be staying for several days and preparing many meals, it is worth hitting the Super Walmart in Rexburg prior to heading to Island Park.
We spent a couple days outside the park. Daughter and bestie went horseback riding one day, and we rented kayaks the other. Regarding the latter, we picked them up across the road (US20,) drove to the drop off, then paddled down to (we saw a moose!) Mack's Inn. I then paid $30 to them to get dropped off back at my vehicle. Sounds like a hassle, but wound up being significantly less $ than had we rented at Mack's. Recommended!
Speaking of Mack's, try the Huckleberry ice cream. And the Mexican joint across the river is very good. Ask for Niko.
We knew the TVs were there, but who had the time?😁 We did play a couple of the games. We had so much fun with "You might be a redneck if..." we ordered a copy (out of print, so yikes!) that arrived home before we did.
I strongly recommend the joint!
