What a lovely home. Great for a family get-away or reunion. It sleeps 10, but in 3 bedrooms, so you need to be friendly (which we were). The beds were super comfortable! as was the entire house. The furniture was 'mountain nice' - durable, comfortable and comforting. The kitchen was modern, easy to use - though we didn't cook in it other than to warm up food. (there was a water filter, but honestly it's Idyllwild. The tap water is excellent). I especially loved the design of the place - with the upper loft area drawing everyone to the great room, and the huge windows letting in views and light. We enjoyed the deck and fire pit while star-gazing. The view of the sky is limited because of tall trees around, but fabulous. In our case, I was re-living some of my childhood spent in Idyllwild, missing my grandparents who lived there. And it was an anniversary - lots of nostalgia. This place would be perfect for a celebration (wedding prep / birthday) and also for a somber occasion, like gathering with friends or family while wrapping your mind around losing a loved one. And a great place for family exploration of hiking trails, or of nearby Strawberry and Marion creeks, of town. It would be an awesome place to spend a few weeks polishing up my manuscript. Tranquil, unhurried, quiet. We were delighted to find a good full-service grocery store in town, as well as restaurants - we enjoyed the brewpub and the Mexican restaurant. Both great.
