The hotel looks nice. The view from the 33rd-floor restaurant was great. The gym was exceptionally well-equipped.
But it's not a five-start hotel primarily because of poor service. The service at the restaurant was extremely slow because staff were not paying attention. They just stood there.
The same can be said about the coffee shop in the lobby. I bought a piece of cake and a cup of coffee, but the coffeemaker was out of order, which was fine. The woman at the shop seemed to have no idea what to do. I asked if I could get something else that doesn't require the use of the coffeemaker, but she was either unwilling or just completely flustered. Then I asked if I could get a refund on my credit card just for the coffee, but not for the cake. She wasn't sure what to do. I asked if I could get it back in cash. No clear response. After about ten minutes of back and forth, she took it to the reception desk. The guy at the desk told me that they couldn't make a refund with cash. So he voided my purchase both for the coffee AND the cake. In the end, I had to walk away, having wasted 20 minutes, with no cake or coffee. In the meantime, there was no apology or any acknowledgement that they had caused me inconvenience.
Aside from the porr service, another potential problem for tourists is that the hotel is about 10-15 minutes away from a neighborhood where a lot of restaurants exist. You'd have to cross major streets to get there on foot.
