Well stocked kitchen/clean

Very clean home! Well stocked kitchen. Great grill. Comfy mattress and sofa. Hard to find rental for larger dogs but Buddy and Yatcee enjoyed their stay too

Beautiful and peaceful!

We stayed here over Thanksgiving and it was a completely serene setting. The home was very well-equipped with everything we needed. The kayaks were much appreciated - we went out on them every day, and the lake is very quiet this time of year. The hot tub was fantastic. Smith Mountain Lake State Park is just 15 minutes away for some beautiful trail walks which we did a couple times. I definitely recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay here!

Autumn Family Gathering

Kitchen is amazing: roomy and completely outfitted so real cooking is possible. Whether in the sun or under the stars, the outdoor spaces are beautiful, accommodating and practical. Quiet cove with access by boat or car.

Beautiful Lake House

We enjoyed staying in this lovely home and having such beautiful and an expansive lake view was a plus! This home is large, nicely updated and decorated. The dock on the lake and fire pit both with seating was enjoyed as well as the lake view hot tub! I will say that you do need to plan your groceries ahead of time as this home is located in a rural community and though no problem it is a bit of a drive to restaurants and grocery store. Rental agency was very responsive to our request for a repair while we were there. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to explore more of SML.

Very thoughtful owners; checkout a little confusing

Our stay was wonderful! The property is excellent and the owners have done so many things to make the stay as stress free and convenient as possible. They even have extra toiletries available if you forget something. Who thinks of things like that?! These owners did! I hate to give such a great review because I'm afraid that will make it hard for us to rent it again! :-) We were a little confused about checkout procedures. There was one set on the refrigerator and another set sent to us by vacasa. We tried to follow both directions but it would be good to make those procedures consistent with each other. Really great rental. High recommend.

Great home!

Lazy Dog Retreat was a perfect fit for our family of 3 and 2 fur babies. The property is stylish, comfortable, well maintained and has gorgeous views!! The owners generously supply soap, shampoo, detergent and lots of kitchen necessities! We loved the covered boat dock and all the kayaks (especially the smaller one for my son). The quiet neighborhood is perfect for walks and very close to a boat ramp. I highly recommend this house for your vacation!

Immaculate Lakeside Home

This house was stunning! Amazing views, well stocked kitchen felt like we were right at home! Awesome amenities! Hot tub was pristine & steamy! Fire pit was nice. Dock was well equipped for kayaking. Lots of cozy spaces with plenty of blankets for cuddling up and relaxing. Quiet neighborhood. Loved the dog friendliness. Would highly recommend a stay here for a relaxing lake side vacation!

Perfect get-away!

Lazy dog was the perfect spot for our long weekend away from Richmond! It’s an absolutely beautiful cabin, with a lovely view of a quiet Cove. Kayaking, fishing, hiking and cycling were all in the mix for us every day. Our two dogs were completely comfortable, and we loved seeing the added touches of dog beds and dog decor throughout the cabin. Truly, we can’t recommend this highly enough, cleanliness and attention to detail were spot on!

Very nice - very quiet!

This property was even better than advertised. Place was immaculate which meant that instead of our usual crazed disinfection routine, we were way more relaxed on the way in the door. After reading the TP and PT were not included, we were quite happy to find all the bathrooms stocked with TP and extra rolls. There were also some spices, oils, sugar, coffee filters, and extra toiletry items. Loved paddling on the kayaks in the lake. Really beautiful view off the deck. This place is definitely quiet so hopefully that is your thing. Prepare for it to be a 25 minute drive to get groceries, but if you like being on a lake this place is great!
