Positive: The property was conveniently located and clean. Parking was free.
Check-in went smoothly, so I thought, until I was awaken at 4am by someone attempting to enter our room. Although scared to death, I went to the door, I was met by 2 guests and an employee (without a name tag) who asked me why I was there. I advised them that checked in at 4pm the previous afternoon. The guests were extremely apologetic and the employee blamed the person who checked us in.
In the morning I went to the front desk. I was told the manager would be in around 11 and would call. After no call by 2pm, I called the property and spoke with the manager Pa - who initially demonstrated a lacked empathy about my fear or the seriousness of the situation. After I advised I would escalate the matter, he said he would approve a refund via the third party. He also advised he would be firing the employee from the evening, which I thought was improper to share with a guest.
The stay did not improve. I needed my keys reissued twice because they deactivated them. Plus, later that evening I was awaken again by a guest arguing loudly with the front desk for over 10 minutes about a smoking fine assessed to their room.
After 2 nights of poor sleep, I had to drive on the highway for several hours. Also, the hotel mgmt never approved the refund, as he promised.
The manager here is incredibly unprofessional. I will never return here nor will we stay in a Spark property ever again.
