Was not a where of stones right by the stairs to get into water. Would be nice to know that in advance to bring water shoes. Very sea weedy by the shore line also. Otherwise was nice.

Great stay

We love this property and have stayed here more than once. It’s got a spacious yard on the lake, clean, close to stores, nice house inside with room for many! We always keep this in mind for a family get together over the summer!

Gorgeous Lakefront destination

The house is absolutely beautiful and well stocked. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need for this little getaway. We had 10 people in our group and there was plenty of room and supplies for everyone. The yard is big with plenty of room for yard games and laying in the sun. We also loved having the fire pit as the evenings were cool. Communication was also on point! We will definitely look into booking this house again when we return to Hought Lake!

Peaceful, Cozy, Quiet - Early Fall Long Weekend

The house was perfect for our family of five. The lake view and generous size yard were better than we expected. The house was clean, comfortable, and well appointed with everything you need for a stay away from home. We would definitely stay here again to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax.

Great for a girls weekend

The communication was great from the house manager. The house was clean and stocked very well. Loved the labels on the cabinets and the amount of extras it would make it really easy to have a family stay there. We had a girls weekend and outdoor space was perfect for hanging out.

2nd Time Staying Here & Will Come Back Again!!

This is the second year our family has stayed at this home and we will be back! We also recommended this listing to friends planning to visit Houghton Lake. The house is absolutely beautiful and very functional for a larger group (we had 6 adults and 4 kids)! The host thinks of everything and is attentive to details, making sure the house is stocked with anything you might need for your stay. The outdoor space is perfect with a lovely dock, nice firepit, and good sized yard/patio! The lake is shallow for a long time and an ideal place for kids to swim and play. Excellent communication from the host both leading up to and during our stay. This property is for sure a 10/10!!

Enjoyed the view!

We enjoyed our stay despite the weather not cooperating for our hopes to ice fish. Sonia was very thoughtful and had everything you need and more. Loved all the windows to enjoy the view of the lake! Sonia also was very quick to respond and allowed us to check out a little later so we could leave when the roads were in better condition.

Gorgeous family-friendly lakefront home

This home is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect spot for a family vacation! The lakefront and dock are lovely and great for kids as the water stays shallow past the dock. The hosts thought of everything and the home was extremely clean and well organized. The layout is ideal for families with a large living and dining area, two outdoor picnic tables, and a firepit with Adirondack chairs. The house is very close to Macon boat rental, Lakeland recreational, and in walking distance to some cute shops and a rite aid. We would love to come back to this house next year!

One of the most beautifully clean VBRO properties

Our family had a wonderful time at this rental. The owner, Sonia, went above and beyond with her care of detail. The house was impressively clean, which was a breath of fresh air for us! She provides many hotel-like amenities which allowed us to feel very comfortable here. The house is in a great location to local restaurants and grocery stores; and is also close to Higgins Lake. We plan to return!

Perfect Family Lakeside Vacation Home

Our family group had a wonderful stay in this vacation home. The owners make an extra effort to provide tor the comfort and other needs of guests. The home is roomy, clean, well appointed and decorated. We vacation at Houghton Lake annually. This home is nicest one in which we have stayed. Sonia was always quick to respond to a query or requests.

Great weekend getaway

We had a family vacation and our stay at The Crowned Shore Cottage was amazing. The house had everything we could need (and more)! I was very impressed with all the instructions/helpful hints and signage to find everything with ease. The property is beautiful with plenty of space to relax and enjoy Houghton Lake. We had 6 adults and 4 children and the indoor and outdoor space was more than enough. Sonia was very easy to communicate with and maintains a 5 star rental. We are looking forward to booking here again in the future.

Houghton Lk vacation

We had a very positive experience overall however there were a few items that I feel need attention. The home appeared freshly renovated on the inside which looked great. I was not able to unlock the door with the 4 digit code that was supposed to be provided. I called the support phone number and there was no one available. Thankfully the back door was left unlocked so we had access to the property. The landscaping was a bit overgrown and the seagulls took over the dock which made it pretty discussing to walk down to watch the sunset. We own several rental properties as well so we truly value feedback from our clients as well. Overall it was a very positive experience and we made some great memories with our kids. Sincerely.
