From Buffalo to Hawaii

The place was better than the pictures could describe. The view to the beach was breathtaking. Lots to do close by.

Wonderful stay Clean had all amenities. Our room wasnt ready gor early check in but manager sent us gift card. Highlight recommend!

Great Location

The location is great, the grounds are beautiful & well maintained. My #1 issue is with the cleanliness of our accommodations. We pay a cleaning fee upfront, my expectations are that we would arrive to a clean room! The attention to detail in reference to cleaning is disgusting.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family including grandchildren recently spent two wonderful weeks in a great condo. The unit was clean, comfortable and perfect for our family of seven. The resort property was well maintained and offered activities for all ages. The view from our unit was spectacular. We would highly recommend this unit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is great for families. We rent at the Papakea every year and found this unit to have one of the best views. The location is handy for going to the pool or ocean-side. It was clean and the kitchen is reasonably well stocked (the only one I’ve ever rented with sharp knives!). It has putters and beach chairs but no sand toys, tennis rackets or boogie boards etc.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this unit is great. Incredible view of the pool and ocean. Many updates including granite countertops. Kitchen appliances are in need of some repair. Would recommend lounge chair(s) for the lanai and the upstairs loft would be better with a double/queen and a twin xl (similar to other units in the complex). Would recommend it to friends!

The unit was EXTREMELY dated and very-well worn / used. There were two wall outlets that when you went to plug something in the socket was so well used or damaged that the plug wouldn't stay in. The closet in the loft bedroom had locks on it that over time had been taken off and re-positioned. Kitchen cabinet doors where the hinge was coming out of the frame. The main bathroom sink and shower were so plugged up that it took 10 minutes for the water to drain. The washer / dryer unit looked like it was out of the '60's and quite banged up.We loved the floor plan, the location within the complex, the cleanliness, the welcome kit but the owners of this unit need to step up and put some of the money they're getting from renting it out and put it back into the product. We all said we would stay at that complex again but never at K402 again.

Resort/location was fantastic. This unit, not so much.

The Papakea resort grounds and staff were fantastic. Beautiful setting away from the craziness of the larger more touristy resorts. The unit itself was okay. We had plenty of room for our family and everything was clean. Minor updates in the bathrooms, and maintenance to the sliding doors and shutter style windows would improve the overall experience. The AC in the guest room did not work the entire week we were there, and given the number of fans stuffed into the various closets, it probably hasn’t worked for quite some time. Communication with property management was not great. Most of my emails to them went unanswered. It took two days of back and forth communications about the ac to finally send someone over to look it, who ultimately could not fix it but offered to bring us more fans. We would definitely consider staying at Papakea resorts again, but not in a unit under this management company.

Not ideal

We didn't receive the correct information to access the property, upon check in was told they didn't have it and would have to contact my perfect stay to get that. Upon arriving in condo, it was dirty, no cleaning supplies, cockroaches, shower door fell off when opening it, washer didn't work properly and the one air conditioner leaked water the entire stay. We had to re-arrange 2 days of our stay to accommodate maintenance which only fixed one of the 5 items that were discussed. My perfect stay didn’t seem to truly understand the on-going issues with the property. I would not recommend this condo or renting anything from My Perfect Stay.

Needs updating and better maintenance.

Pluses : Great view, nice linens, and plenty of dishes (except forks) Cons: Unit needs serious updating and better maintenance. The guest bathroom has an outdated small bathtub with shower. Very slippery when wet. Mold on top of shower. Unrecognizable substance on shower door hinge. Black substance around faucets in loft. Master bathroom shower drips. Some outlets in rooms don’t work. Light bulbs missing or don’t work. Leg on chair in dining area is very wobbly. Washing machine cycles are not as indicated on dial. Toilet in loft ½ bathroom must be flushed twice. TVs in guest and loft areas not connected to cable.

The grounds are fantastic, scenic, location can't be beat; it's apparent the the grounds keepers are hard at work all day long and all staff are pleasant and helpful! The individual unit is nice, but needs better cleaning & care. The non- negotiable 4pm check in to allow for cleaning to be scheduled weeks in advanced & cleaning fee was a rip-off and insult when we arrived at 4pm to find the door open and people inside cleaning. They left 5-10 minutes after our check-in, but we immediatealy wondered if they didn't finish or typically do an inadequate job. The kitchen floor was sticky to walk on (we cleaned with wet paper towels as that was what was on hand), the refrigerator door was covered in handprints, the floor was overall not clean and our feet were discolored every day just from walking around inside. We found visibly soiled dishes in the cabinets and knife block so we washed many of the dishes ourselves prior to using them. AND THE ROACHES! Roach traps thoughout, and roach spray under the kitchen sinks...keep all food in the fridge or microwave for storage! The problem isn't new...we can see in the house journal where prior tenants have commented and called to report this resulting in more roach traps and bug spray. I called Perfect Stays on my check out day to report this again by voicemail, never got a call back, so I alerted the front desk also to try to limit the spread. The beach and laundry supplies were quite helpful, we loved the mural and artwork

Wonderful property, great location

Close to multiple beaches and restaurants. Many on site amenities, in unit laundry was a huge plus. Easy to access, staff in the office are incredibly helpful. Would definitely stay here again next time.

Thanksgiving Holiday

The condo we stayed in met all our needs and expectations! Sitting on the lanai enjoying our morning coffee, listening to the ocean roar and being treated to many rainbows was a gift we didn’t expect! The property is busy during the day with families taking part in the activities provided like shuffleboard, swimming, and Putt-Putt golf or just those sunning, reading and enjoying their solitude. At night, it is quiet, restful and fun if you want a night swim or soak in the hot tub. We we strongly supported by the reality company if we had questions or needed anything! We couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Loved the beautiful resort overall and would definitely recommend and would stay again. However, Check in was very confusing. Key cards and key pad code provided by front desk didn’t work. Property manager provided different keypad code that worked. No instructions provided in advance for trash services. Televisions were not connected to the internet. No mention of how to get clean towels, etc. inside condo instructions would have been extremely helpful.

Reviewer Comments: Overall a nice place to stay, cleaning needs to be more thorough, as I saw dried macaroni noodles inside the bottom of the cupboard where the garbage is kept, dried pancake splatter on a few cupboards. Some maintenance needs to be done, towel bar dowel cover loose and hanging, bathroom vanity light not level, curtain hooks need to be rehooked, looks like drapes in bedroom have had there better days. Nice there was a disclaimer that the bath tub is shower only, no plug. I was ready to take a bath when I realized there was no stopper. Bath showers & tubs need to be updated to be current with the rest of the condo. One last note, nice to have all of the kitchen appliances, dishes etc. but there is not room to put your food, all the cupboards were filled with kitchen stuff, more than most guests will ever use.

Lovely family trip

We had a family vacation in Maui and this was a wonderful place to stay. The view was fantastic. The resort had a lot of fun things to do for kids (mini golf, pool) and walking around the resort was beautiful with all the fish to look at.
