Shabby in Saigon

The hotel is a short walk to Ben Thanh Market and everything else in Dist 1. But the room had no hot water and in 3 nights the sheets were never changed. The carpets in the halls are absolutely filthy. They use the old one key card for the room technology which requires you leave the key at reception if your bedmate is going somewhere else. Pretty shabby.

Overall the stay was OK. The only setback is the breakfast. Exactly the same dishes everyday for the entire 5 days during my stay.

I stayed here 3 times before, this time is disappointed. The receptionist were very rude, especially the manager lady. They never smile to customers. The security guys were very nice. Breakfast is terrible. You come to eat and you leave by yourself, there is no waiter to service at all. The room smell smoke.

The hotel was in a good location, close to Ben Thanh Market. However, I think I got bitten badly by bed bugs there, on my lower legs. As my stay was short (I stayed only two days), I did not realise I had been bitten until I had checked out of the hotel (it takes one day for the bites to start appearing).

Good clean and....blinggy!

This a a good value and very clean hotel. The decor is ultimate bling bling and not to everyones tastes. Everything was very clean. Room was spacious with comfortable bed and good bathroom. Breakfast was ordinary compared to other hotels at this rate we stayed at in Vietnam but still ok.

NEVER book this hotel if arrived at night

Room ok, but 1 star for the attitude of the male reception staff at late night. NEVER book this hotel if you arrived at late night, as I felt like a ghost hotel when I checked in: the security guy was sitting checking his smartphone, no one welcomed me. I stood in front of reception desk and the male staff just asked "What?". No SMILE. I gave him my confirmation email from Hotels.com but he did not find the reservation on system. Things that made I get mad was his impolite and non- supportive attitude: he requested me to contact Hotels.com at the mid-night, saying with his annoyed face. I requested to meet the manager, but he said the manager could not be contacted. He also said I must upgraded the room and paid for the full charge on the next day if I failed to contacted Hotels.com, and he could not afford the compensation with his low salary. I could not believe that I was in the middle of HCM city where is famous for its good service. In the next day morning, the staff was more friendly, however I still had to pay the room rate (higher than the booking, as I had agreed to upgrade to have an accommodation.)To sum it up, it is the worst hotel I've ever experienced in term of reception service.Never booked in Ly Tu Trong Str. again.
