The cottage is exactly how it appears in the pictures. It is adorable. Very close to everything, downtown Highlands, water fall trails, zip lining. Great food and shopping. Would definitely stay here again.

Cabin and owners have good intentions, cute place very rustic. For cooking the stove could use some type of ventilation. Cleaning was not very good.... but the owners sent the cleaning person back to address missed areas. The owners communicated well and addressed our concerns, they purchased a gift card to Madison's for us. Our favorite part of the cabin was the back screened in porch. Cute place to stay for younger couples. We had a few exciting days of a mama bear and her 3 cubs visiting the cabin next door.

The cottage was perfect. Very clean and everything is updated. The two grills were a very nice touch. It's very rare to have a Kamado available at a VRBO. The place is nestled in the woods with other houses nearby, but amazingly quiet and very private because of the way its all landscaped. Its just 2-3 minutes from downtown Highlands. We will definitely stay here again.

Perfect Getaway

This cottage was absolutely perfect for a getaway with my hubby after the busy holiday season. The bed was comfortable, and Shannon thought of everything to make the space feel like home. We left feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the new year. Can’t wait to go back!

Coziest Cottage

Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath (with a loft above the main room too) that is tucked away off the beaten path in the mountains. We took a short hike into town from the cottage and enjoyed brunch. We also lounged around one day, cooked chili in the kitchen and used the wood stove since it was a rainy day. The screened in porch is perfect, but we didn’t use it since it was cold. The cottage has everything you could need. Shannon, the host, was very responsive with any questions or concerns you may have. We hope to visit again one day.

Comfy Cabin with Wonderful Porch

This cabin is so cute and cozy. The beds were very comfortable with nice bedding. The back porch was perfect, we spent both evenings out there chatting. Location is just minutes to downtown Highland.

Cozy and cute!

We visited Highlands for a wedding and really enjoyed staying here! The location was convenient to travel to town and the wedding venue as well. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated and even includes books, games, and a s’mores kit! We can’t wait to visit again!

My husband and I absolutely loved Highlands Hytte. Mirror lake is such a perfect location, and this cottage fits right in. Adorable decor with really smart design choices that elevate and maximize the space.

Wonderful Spot!

This house was just perfect for our family of four. It was in close proximity to downtown Highlands. We loved the screened in porch and outdoor fire pit. Host was kind to leave s'more fixings! House had all we needed and more. The loft area is very small, but my 16 yo son was able to fit up there and said he was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Happy in the Highlands

We recently stayed at this Cozy Cottage. It was perfect for our mother daughter trip. Everything was exactly as it was described. We loved being close to town and the area is very quiet and safe. The cottage had everything we need and the beds were comfy. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Super cozy cottage

Our family loved our vacation staying in Highlands Hytte. The house was stocked with things we needed and was beautifully decorated. Plus, it was close to everything. The string of lights over the firepit was lovely, the loft was perfect for our ten-year old and the screened porch was divine for reading and morning coffee/tea. Five stars!

The property is exactly as described in listing! Very cute, and comfortable! Lots of touches that make this cottage so enjoyable to stay in. We loved the location as we could ride our e-bikes around the area and into town (10 minutes). It was cool enough to enjoy outside fire!!

Home away from Home

My friend and I felt like it was Home away from Home. We're both homebodies and we throughly loved the cozy cottage. It gave us both room for ourselves after days of shopping, looking at beautiful waterfalls and delicious meals in downtown. Each detail was thought about by the owners well before we arrived. Especially enjoyed the screen in porch and the simple detail of having extension cord for easy reach for cell phones.

Great location near downtown Highlands

Great cozy cottage for our 4 night winter stay. Downtown Highlands was a 3 minute drive and the Mirror Lake neighborhood has always been one of our favorite spots. We enjoyed the warmth and glow of the wood stove, only wished it had been warm enough to enjoy the inviting porch. We will save that for next time!
