Had the most wonderful long weekend in this gorgeous cottage. Immaculate inside with really comfortable beds and everything you would need. Really lovely having encoded garden for dogs - super quiet location.

Possibly the quietest place we have ever stayed

A very peaceful location, just us and the resident goshawk. The kitchen equipment was all of a very high standard. We enjoyed the gardens and grounds.

Weekend away with friends

Just had a lovely stay at Upper Lodge. What a fantastic property plenty of character but super modern facilities. 3 Lovely bedrooms and en-suites and super living space. Great to stay somewhere where everything is provided, would defiantly come back if in the area.

Wonderful stay

We absolutely loved our stay at Upper Lodge. The house was extremely spacious, but also very cosy and homely. We loved the stylish decor and found everything to be in perfect condition. The location was very beautiful and peaceful, and the house felt very private. We would definitely love to return in the future.

A family gathering to mark my retirement

The house is so well equipped and the on site team were so helpful with minor queries. But the setting, hidden in a secret valley at the end of the drive, and with the estate’s own pub a brisk walk away, is magical.

Fabulous!

A much needed holiday for us and two friends, plus pooches. SO peaceful and relaxing and within easy reach of some great places to visit. Fully secure garden for the dogs and some lovely walks nearby. Helen was just a text away and lovely - friendly and helpful with a great sense of humour too

Idyllic Countryside Escape

This was our second visit to Upper Lodge. We were very excited to return for a family break away from it all. It was just as beautiful and homely as we’d remembered. Facilities and interior design touches around the lodge are stunning. Dog friendly and safe which was high on our list of priorities. A warm welcome from the team by way of messages and a goodie package. Location 10/10. Want to return again next year.

Gorgeous few days away!

We had the most wonderful few days at Upper Lodge. The house is absolutely beautiful and incredibly welcoming. We spent many happy hours relaxing on the comfy sofas in front of the log fire, which made it feel extra cosy. The property was perfectly equipped for both adults and children, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and having a beautiful en suite for each bedroom made such a difference. The location is stunning, with lovely walks right on the doorstep for the dog, and being able to stroll to a local pub was a real bonus. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Upper Lodge again and would highly recommend it to others.

Exceptional Property

Everything about our stay at Upper Lodge was exceptional. The accommodation is wonderful with all requirements for our stay catered for. The quality of the property is the best we have stayed in. Booking was easy, directions were given and Helen the housekeeper answered all questions instantly via email. I will be booking next year without hesitation.

Fabulous

The house was really fabulous with great decor, comfy beds and a fully enclosed garden for the dog. Beautiful gardens adjacent where you can buy lovely plants. Plenty of places to eat locally though a car is needed for most (the same for shops). Very peaceful place with well stocked kitchen as well as croquet, boules and darts.

Wonderful

We stayed at Upper Lodge for the weekend and even before arriving Helen, our wonderful host, was so helpful in ensuring we had a comfortable stay. The Lodge and furnishings were immaculate and lots of extras provided including a lovely welcome hamper which we really appreciated. We loved the extras like the dart board, boules and croquet sets which provided much entertainment. We took our dogs and they had a wonderful time and enjoyed the enclosed garden. A very special thank you to Helen who went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable weekend. I highly recommend Upper Lodge.

Absolutely wonderful property to stay in. Very high standard. Beautiful location.

The property was just wonderful with so many supplies that we felt like we had all the comforts of home! Linda and Helen were so kind and helpful. The location absolutely requires a car to get around, but the walks, the streams, hills and rivers, the villages etc etc are just out of this world. By the end of the holiday we felt like we were part of the family and will be rebooking 100% to stay again. We did actually extend our stay because we still had lots to see and do and it was worth it. No one actually wanted to leave to be honest. Be prepared to wait for flocks of partridges and sheep to get out of your way in their own time whilst trying to get to your destinations. This property would be beautiful in Autumn and in Winter too so you really cannot go wrong.
