Suitable budget apartment with very local vibes. Near to a vibrant restaurant street, two large grocery stores and a wonderful lake. Tons of coffee shops around.
I had the larger studio with big terrace on the 7th floor. I loved the view and natural light. Couch and coffee table suitable for working. AC worked great even on the hottest days. Great to have in-room washing machine. One-burner stove and kettle were sufficient. Unfortunately, few dishes or cooking stuff; I had to buy plates, pan, cooking knife, spatula etc. Mattress was super thin, almost like a Japanese mat. After stacking 3 comforters on top, bed was workable but not enjoyable. Subpar cleaning, I had to scrub down the bathroom and sink after arrival.
Manager is a nice guy, very reasonable. No English spoken but translator was sufficient.
This Era aparthotel chain apparently specializes in converting back-alley locations into short-term rental units, many locations all over Hanoi.
Note:
- the phone numbers on the confirmation email didn't work, so I had no way to contact the hotel before arrival
- the higher rooms with balcony get a lot of sunlight early in the morning and the blinds are ineffective; bring a sleep mask
- it seems the first floor apartments have windows literally opening up into the garage area, so those will hear every single motorcycle noise
- there's a clothes dyer in the garage you can use for 20k per load
- There is secure motorcycle parking, free
- Elevator works great
