The water from the shower leaked into rest of the bathroom and even into the bedroom area. On my final night there seemed to be water leak from another room. Staff was polite and helpful. Spa area was not very different from the roadside spas/message parlors. The massage itself was very good. This should be classified as a 3-star, not a 4-star hotel.

Disappointing

I stayed here with a tour group twice. Location is out of the main tourist area. I found the staff to be less than helpful, which is unusual, and the restaurant food was very average which meant walking for dinner rather than being able to eat in the hotel. Lack of a bar or just anywhere to sit and chill was also disappointing given the limited stopover time we had.

Great stay at a great location.

Great room with comfortable (but squeeky) bed, large fridge, seating area & jetted tub. Great included breakfast. We stayed here after our Intrepid tour ended here and we were able to stay in the same upgraded room. Breakfast was great and within walking district to the old city. Front desk personel were very friendly and booked us massages at an outside spa where we paid only 1 way cab fare. The spa paid the other way. Only down side was leaking bathroom ceiling but drips went to the tub and cleaning crew didn't seem too concered about it so neither were we. Would stay here again.

Nice hotel in Hanoi.

Actually we stayed in the May de Ville City Center, a sisterhotel to the#2. They got together and realized I had booked the wrong hotel for my tour. It was a great experience.

Good hotel, close to old quarter

Staff are very helpful, comfortable beds & good showers. Great breakfasts & close to several main sights in the old quarter. Rooms are very clean when you arrive, but not well cleaned during the stay.

Nice clean rooms

The hotel itself was very nice and the staff were friendly but the service wasn't amazing. The breakfast wasn't great either and we were also promised a plate of fresh fruit in the room which turned out to be 3 brown bananas! The room was very nice and clean and the rest of the facilities are good! It is a cheap hotel so it is fine for the price.

Nice enough hotel, poor location and service.

Overall I wasn't very happy with my stay at the May De Ville. For starters, after confirming my airport pick-up several times no one showed up. When I called the hotel, no one spoke any English and could not help me. They asked me to email them, of which the email bounced several times. I had to find someone local to help me speak with them and eventually a car showed up. When I finally got to the hotel it was not near the market as is stated and I didn't feel like the neighborhood was safe. When I asked if it was safe to walk alone, the manager insisted it was ad that the market was 200m away. The market was a half mile walk through dark streets off of the main areas, which did not feel safe. When I returned to the hotel I could not find any staff and when I did none of them were in uniform and could not help me with any hotel questions. In addition to these concerns, I never saw anyone else staying at the hotel and I asked if I was the only person at the hotel. I pre-paid to multiple nights, but felt so uncomfortable that I checked out the next morning and moved to a hotel in the center of the Old Quarter.
