Quincy House has, is and will be undergoing restoration and preservation for years to come. In no way will this negatively effect your stay. In fact you will be able to witness how we are transforming and restoring this prominent 144+ year old Victorian Mansion back into the elite monarch of Quincy Hill it once was.
Enjoy the views atop Quincy Hill from this 144+ year old landmark: one of the oldest buildings in the area. Built originally as elite executive mining housing, The Quincy House property still retains it's original carriage house/barn: the only one like it in the Keweenaw with original horse stalls.
Our private driveway is large with plenty of free parking and turn around space for trucks with trailers (**space may be limited in winter with our usual huge snow banks).
**For those sensitive to pets: we have a couple resident cats who patrol this old house inside & out so please be aware if you are prone to allergy. They are kept out of the guest suites at all times and are very cleanly maintained.
Quincy House, completed in 1882 is an Italianate Victorian mansion built by Quincy Mining Company to prominently house its highest ranking area official, the Mine Agent and later known as the Superintendent. It is the last standing mining company agent's house among the many mines that once exploited the area for copper. Built more lavishly than other mine company structures, it served as an elite social center during the copper mine boom. Quincy House is currently undergoing restoration and preservation. You will be staying in a private, newly restored room of the house. We reside in the separate but connected front section that is under restoration. You will not be disturbed by ongoing restorations during your stay. Your privacy and comfort is our utmost concern. We are happy to talk more about the history and meaning this house to the bygone copper boom which helped electrify the nation. Ongoing restorations progress every day and you will witness them in real time.
In addition, your stay will benefit the house as all proceeds we receive from your visit are put directly into the Quincy House Preservation Foundation, a 501c3 charitable nonprofit organization formed and operated by us to restore and sustain the house now and for the future as a valuable historic educational interpretation of Copper Country history.

We were the first guests to stay in this remodeled room. It was very clean and easily accessible. The king size bed was very comfortable. There was a small refrigerator stocked with drinks. Several snacks and a Kerig coffee maker we also provided. The tiled easily accessible shower was very nice. Great room for older guests.
