Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. Upon arrival, the check‑in desk was completely unmanned, requiring us to go to the bar to locate a member of staff. The staff member then had to find a colleague to complete the check‑in process, who arrived without even a pen for the required paperwork. The check‑in desk itself was in an unacceptable condition, with the surface so sticky that the documents adhered to it. The condition of the room was equally unsatisfactory. The bathroom was heavily affected by mould, and the walls and windows offered little to no sound insulation, making it impossible to avoid noise from both the room next door and the courtyard throughout the night and early morning. Checkout was similarly problematic. It was difficult to find a staff member, as they appeared to be occupied distributing breakfasts. The process was abrupt, with no enquiry about our stay; the key was simply taken without acknowledgment. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel. It does not offer the standard of cleanliness, service, or professionalism that guests should reasonably expect. Save you money !

The room was generally fine but the bathroom was tired with mould around the shower tray, the shower head not fitted properly and no external ventilation. Just needs some renewal and investment. Enjoyed our stay but with a minor effort, it could have been so much better.

The only thing that spoilt my 5 night stay was the chair in the rooms that I have used over a period of time at the Bull, they are so uncomfortable. They are not ideal for sitting on for a short / long period during an evening spent in your room watching TV. A bucket type chair would be better..

Lovely building , staff excellent room clean , Bathroom was awful toilet seat broken ie Not attached properly and slid on sideways , The shower hose attached to fitting was broken so water spouted out from there . It was obvious that the staff had tried to clean best possible, but it was worn out and in need of replacing. Toilet was fitted between shower cubicle and the wall it was to narrow for me to sit on , my shoulders were wider than the gap If the bathrooms were better the trip would have been excellent rather than just ok .

Neglected hotel

I truly don't like giving poor reviews, but quite honestly this hotel is seemingly beyond neglected. Mould on the walls, stained carpets, pillow cases didn't look clean, stains on the ironing board, walls peeling, the bed was very uncomfortable, noise from the pub till late... i could go on. This is just a review of the hotel, not the pub it is linked to.

Ok. Good basic room for price. Very clean. Bathroom not good - seat on loo broken, and squashed in a corner, not enough space and shower rail bowed to make it fit. Very comfy and clean beds though, and excellent breakfast!

It’s Bulls..t. Do not stay here. Worth £20

Old run down pub that needs a lot of TLC. first impressions was to be asked Ridley if I wanted to check in. Then they carried on moaning about other workers. Called me on the day to let me know that had a function on. Failed to say it was directly below room. Dirty bathroom and food was very poor standard. Never going back.

Had to wait well over 5 mins for the person on reception to complete something else on their systems, before she was able to deal with me. There was no ability to get any food at 21.30, including snacks from the bar as awaiting next delivery.

Not sure where to start in the bathroom the fan doesn’t turn off so was on all night the toilet flush was not working even if you finally did get it to go the sound from the pipe work was terrible. The carpet felt like you're feet was sticking to it and the place had a funny smell everywhere you went.
