Its location is central in Guangzhou. Easy to get to other area by taxi or metro. The room and bathroom are a bit dated. The shower is slippery when wet. Staff is friendly and helpful.

We stayed there for 6 nights. The room is spacious, comfortable beds, clean carpet, nice toiletries and room with a fantastic view. The staff at hotel reception was very helpful and allow us to check out later as our flight is 6pm. We will choose to stay here again if we return to Guangzhou in future.

Well-placed for exploring all that this remarkable city has to offer. We were here for a 3 day stopover enroute to London, and found it to be a very pleasant and convenient location. Breakfast was outstanding, and staff throughout our stay were attentive. Only difficulty we had was around trying to organise a tour - there did not appear to be any way to do this through the concierge, due to language. However this was no problem, as we had plenty to keep us occupied in Guangzhou during our stay.

The hotel front desk staff didn’t seem to understand what “turn down service” meant. After no turn-down service for two nights, I went to the front desk and asked about it. The front counter staff thought I just wanted it for one night; I clearly stated that I would like to have turn down service for every night. The girl seemed shocked. She had to consult a manager to make sure that my room was eligible to have turn down service (I thought it would be a standard service for them!) Then she came back to tell me that I would get it for the rest of my stays. I got it for that night, but not the following night. I complained to their Cantonese restaurant manager when I was having dinner there. The problem got fixed right away. The same lack of training problem also appeared when I was told that my credit card was not needed for incidentals. Then I could not get my laundry back on time because the housekeeping or laundry department couldn’t charge me. The restaurants were not able to bill my account linked to my room because they weren’t able to charge me. More training is definitely needed for the front counter to keep the same excellent services that their Cantonese restaurant staff provided.
