The Postmaster's Quarters at 2nd & Main - 2 story apartment in the historic district
Located on Main Street in Grenada, MS, the "Old Post Office" was built in 1914, and features many of the original details and architecture present at the time it was constructed. The mission of the new owners is to preserve the history and architecture of this magnificent building, while opening it up to allow others to also enjoy it's beauty.
PROPERTY DETAILS
As you enter the front double doors, you will be in a beautiful lobby area shared with the on-site bridal boutique. Upon entering the apartment, which encompasses a portion of the first floor and the entire upper floor of the building, you will be greeted by arched windows, a dining area, full kitchen, and living space complete with a flat screen TV with internet access to all of your favorite streaming apps. There is also twin pull out couch and half bath downstairs.
When you reach the top of the original hardwood stairs, you will find the 2nd living area with a mini-fridge and coffee bar so you can get your morning coffee fix without heading downstairs. This living area has a 4-seat pub table, couch seating for 5+, and a flat screen TV, DVD player, and many movie options to choose from.
The entire upstairs maintains the original character of the property with its hand painted, frosted glass doors, original hardwood floors, and original bathroom fixtures.
As you go down the main hall, you will notice the original "doghouse" windows lighting the space as well as two large closets. The first doorway you come to is the Master Bedroom, which has a king size bed, 4 large closets, and a sitting area.
The hall then leads you to the entrance of the beautiful full bathroom, which features classic subway tile and marble shower, rain-head, and water closet with original fixtures. In the bathroom, you will find everything you need for your stay, including hair dryer, toiletries, and extra pampering items.
The 2nd bedroom, located at the end of the hall, is sized generously, with 2 Double beds and a desk/office space.
There is no onsite laundry available, but a laundromat is located next door to the property.
The property is located within one block of First & Green event venue and within a 2 minute walk to a grocery store, salon, 2 restaurants, and a highly recommended coffee house. The Dogwoods Golf course is less than a 15 minute drive and we are also only 5 miles from Grenada lake. Boat parking is available and fisherman are welcome!
IMPORTANT INFO Please note that due to the historical nature of the property, it is not handicapped accessible and is not recommended for any guests that have trouble navigating stairs.
