The tent was good, the lunch and dinner were good but the breakfast was poor. We were disappointed with the bed sheets that were not clean, and we were in bad luck with electricity issue it was switching off everyday at 6 am and we should walk all the way down to find someone to fix it, hope they are fixed now. The staff wre very friendly.

Fantastic Experience

We only stayed for a couple of nights (wishing now we had booked one or two more) and found otentic to be brilliant. Very different to the other types of hotels etc in Mauritius but way better in many areas. It's a small set up of around 12 tents which means there is a nice community type feel as pretty much everyone comes down to eat for dinner and some for lunch as well. The tents themselves were brilliant and felt very 'glamping style' with all amenities and a nice outside shower (nice hot water!). Breakfast was included and was very nice. Lunch and Dinner were paid but at only £10 per person were an absolute bargain. We stayed at a few other hotels during this trip, all of which charged well over tripple what otentic did and the food at the otentic was way way better. The main 'camp' area was nice especially at night and was good for hanging around. You can also take the kayaks out for free which was great fun and we also went on the boat trip to the Isle Aux Cerfs which again was free and was a lovely place to spend a couple of hours. There are a few games etc such as badminton and darts as well as board games etc so the camp was just as suitable for families as it was for couples etc. Overall and excellent and different place to stay which i could recommend highly enough.

A Relaxing Alternative

My stay turned out better than staying at a normal hotel. Tents were great with proper beds (very comfortable). The food was great, it turns out a bit expensive if you stay for a few days and have to eat there everyday, as there are not restaurants or shops walking distance. The location is great if you want to see the mountains, river and waterfall. If you are looking for a beach holiday not the best place, but they do have a boat that takes you to one of the nicest beaches in Mauritius. Staff and owner were very friendly and happy to help.

We enjoyed staying at Otentic. The tents are very nice and the beds are comfortable. The staff are very friendly, and since it's a small resort you get to know them and the other visitors. This enhances the experience. The food served is simple and very good. Our favorite was grilled sea bass which was served at dinner. The honor bar is also a nice feature. Our kids (5,7) loved the experience. They would play outside all day and sleep hard at night. Makes for easy parenting. We'd love to be back.

„ Glamping „ trifft es wohl ganz gut. Nicht für Jedermann , aber wer abseits des Mainstreams Urlaub machen möchte, Naturverbunden ist, tolle Küche und Geselligkeit mehr schätzt als die steife Atmosphäre in einem 5 Sterne Hotel ... Abenteuerlustig ist... offen und neugierig ist ... Der wird es lieben. So wie wir .

Un'esperienza unica!

Io che amo le avventure e tutto ciò che può essere originale, ho amato questo luogo! Si è dimostrato decisamente al di sopra delle mie aspettative, avendo quell'atmosfera "naturalistica", di condivisione e di relax che ti fanno sentire a tuo agio. Non è hotel normale, dunque non lo consiglierei a chi ha una visione all'antica e abitudinaria diciamo, però è davvero fantastico in ogni dettaglio!

Formidable expérience

Excellente alternative à Maurice, le seul bémol est la présence d'une route assez bruyante à proximité, mais cela ne compte plus une fois qu'on a goûté la cuisine locale! Les tentes sont grandes, possibilité d'avoir toute une famille dans une seule tente.

Zeer bijzondere ervaring. Geweldig!

Wij verbleven hier twee weken en hebben ons verblijf als zeer prettig ervaren. Er heerst een relaxte sfeer, het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam en er zijn voldoende mogelijkheden om je te vermaken. Zo hebben wij meerdere kanotochtjes gemaakt naar de waterval, waar je omringd wordt door apen, vleermuizen en heel veel mooie vogels. De dagelijkse (gratis) boottocht naar Ile aux Cerfs is ook een aanrader. De tent was ruim en stond op een mooie locatie tussen het groen en dicht bij de rivier. Op het terrein worden diverse groenten en kruiden verbouwd die 's middags en 's avonds in de maaltijden worden verwerkt. Deze maaltijden worden door enkele Mauritiaanse dames en heren bereid, waardoor je de echte Mauritiaanse (Creoolse) keuken leert kennen. De accommodatie ligt aan de oostkust van Mauritius en dit vonden wij de mooiste omgeving, omdat je hier het echte Mauritius ziet.

Superbe expérience

Cet hôtel est vraiment une chouette expérience. Dès l'accueil, on s'y sent bien. L'hôtel propose plusieurs activités qui valent toutes la peine, snorkling, marche jusqu'à un magnifique point de vue, kayak, stand up paddle, pétanque, volley ou encore partie de fléchettes. Au niveau de la nourriture, le repas de midi est typiquement mauricien. Beaucoup de monde disent que c'est la meilleure nourriture mauricienne de l'île. C'est un buffet, on peut goûter de tout et manger jusqu'à être rassasié. Le soir : grillades de poisson, viande,... Chaque midi et chaque soir, les menus sont différents mais toujours excellents. Le bar est à notre disposition. Nous nous servons à notre guise et faisons nos cocktails, ouvrons nos bières. Là, tout est le charme de cet endroit où la confiance y règne. Il suffit d'écrire tes consommations sur un cahier et tu règles le montant à la fin de ton séjour. Merci pour ce chouette moment. Je vais parler que du bien de vous. À bientôt

Amazing atmosphere and super cosy

We had a great stay at otentic eco. Everything was so lovely. The place was well taken care of with the highest level of cosiness. Its all the opposites from a big resort. The food was amazing, the best we had during our holiday. All staff was super friendly!!! There are fun things to do like hiking, cayaking and boat trip to an island. If you go to Mauritius, you have to stay a few nights here. Would love to come back.

Awesome place!

Avkopplande miljö, supergod mat, fantastisk personal och otroligt fräscha tält! Man kan välja till att äta lunch- och/eller middagsbuffé. Säg ja till all sån mat - den är helt fantastiskt god! Varje dag har de gratis shuttle boat till Ile aux Cerf.

Otentic une expérience d'hotel écologique vraiment

Otentic est une expérience d'hotel d'une autre forme. Les chambres sont simples mais confortables, le personnel est au petits soins et toujoujours discret L'authenticité de l'acceuil en fait un hotel à part avec une réelle volonté de faire un effort en terme d'impact écologique

Es como estar en un campamento de verano pero con todas las comodidades! Las tiendas/bungalows son muy acogedoras y practicas. La comida excelente y del país, criolla, como debe ser, preparada por unas cocineras muy simpáticas. De hecho, todo el staff fue súper agradable y atento en todo momento.

Séjour très agréable en pleine nature

Nous avons passé un cours séjour à otentic en pleine nature dans un magnifique espace vert très entretenu. C'est un lieu idéal esprit camping amélioré, avec comme atout l'accès journalier en bateau à l'île au cerf pour profiter de la plus paradisiaque plage de l'île Maurice. Le personnel est plus qu'attentionné. On mange typiquement Mauricien et à volonté. Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu pour un cours séjour ou pour un séjour "retour à la nature".
