I stayed here because my 5 days in Vegas did not give me enough time for a poker night and Black Hawk, CO casinos are nearby. Too tired after long drive to run to the poker room though. Room had a balcony overlooking a springtime (fast) river but although the river was loud did not disrupt sleep. Comfortable and quiet. Coffee maker did not work and only 1 ice machine on the complex but overall a very good value and would consider staying again for another trip west next year.

Ice Cold Reception at the Argo Inn I made my 1-night reservation through Expedia for a single King room, then called about 10 days before arrival to switch to a 2-Queen room since my (grown) son decided to join me for the trip. We arrived at about 6:30 pm March 14, 2025 and were greeted indifferently by the desk clerk. No big deal – I gave my name and picked up my key. Upon entering the room, I saw that it had a single King bed. I walked back to the office to explain that I had changed the reservation to a 2-Queen, and he said he didn’t know about any change and he didn’t have a 2-Queen room. I told him I had spoken to someone more than a week ago, and she said she would make the change for an extra charge. He said he didn’t know anything about that. I pulled out my phone, recited the phone number I had called 10 days earlier (303-567-4473), and asked if that was the right number. Desk clerk: “I don’t know”. Me: “Are you telling me you don’t know the phone number of the place you work?” Desk clerk: (shrug). Me: “Do you think I’m lying to you about this?” Desk clerk: “I don’t think it happened”. Me: “Can I at least have your name?” Desk clerk: “No”. Me: “Is there some reason why you won’t give me your name?” Desk clerk: “I don’t want to be slandered.” I have a photo of “Mr. Hospitality”, in case management is interested.

Had a nice balcony with a creek running below. Very peaceful. Had a couch in room and a jacuzzi tub which was great after skiing.

Amazing getaway.

My children and i loved staying here. The room was amazing and Chance at the frint desk was so welcoming and provided so many suggestions for us to do while we were in town. Ive already booked our next room in June.

Check in process was quick and easy. Friendly staff. Room was clean, the sound of the river is Right outside the window. Our room had a Small balcony to enjoy the fresh breeze and our morning coffee. Bed was comfy, pillows were a little flatter than we prefer but overall a wonderful night of sleep.

Arrived and instantly felt uneasy. Guy at front desk either didnt want to be there or something else not friendly or helpful at all. Only got worse from there. Got in the room and things were dated and also gross like grime on shower walls and staining around the toilet. Carpet was duck taped down in places. The back patio door lock was a 1x that wasn't long enough to properly keep door fully closed. Thats just the beginning. Not even maybe 10 min after we get there and get our stuff in the room we get a knock at the door with 2 guys claiming to be housekeeping/maintenance. I was very weirded out by this but thought how unprofessional. Then maybe 2 or 3 minutes later ANOTHER knock! This time asking for our names and claiming a mix up. We then got very concerned and decided to get out of there and get something to eat. Over our meal my Fiance and I decided that we didnt feel safe. Returned our key cards and got the hell out of there.
