For the $50 a night we paid, you can't beat the value. We had a cute little balcony with a view of the mountains, and you're close enough to downtown Gatlinburg to walk, but far enough that the hotel is nice and quiet. The shower will boil you alive if someone flushes, the towels were a little thin, and the hand soap left an oily residue, but it was a great stay for the price overall.
For people with accessibility needs--the CleanTV remote doesn't turn on the Closed Captioning. You can get to the CC menu, but can't select them because there are no arrow keys or enter on the remote. I imagine you'll have to ask the front desk for a remote that will turn on the captions. Great selection of channels, though!
TL;DR: If you want the luxury experience, go somewhere else. If you want a quiet hotel with a great view close to downtown for an amazing price, go to the Chalet Inn!
