Terrible management company nice house with a few unsafe conditions

I recently had an unfortunate experience at this property due to its terrible management. Firstly, the house is unsafe, particularly from the top stairs downwards. The top of the stairs is poorly lit, which poses a significant risk when walking down the stairs at night. Taller individuals who need to be extremely cautious when descending from the second floor.Additionally, the cleanliness was below standard. There was trash left over, and hair in the shower. The management company's handling of our stay was extremely unprofessional. Out of nowhere, they initiated an eviction without providing any proof or validation concerning who was on the premises. Despite the uncooperative management, the neighbors were friendly and accommodating. They were open to letting us use extra parking for our group, which was as we had a few extra cars due to the rain in Houston after a prom event. Although local police informed us about overflow parking availability, the management did not allow us this option.To our dismay, the owners decided on an eviction, which was a major safety hazard for our group since we had been there all day. Moreover, they denied any refund and imposed an additional 850 fee. I advise future renters to thoroughly read the agreement, as certain clauses that weren't initially there seem to have been added. The most disappointing aspect is the management company's attitude. They responded with sarcasm and showed no willingness to listen.

Wonderful beach trip!

We had an amazing time celebrating our daughter’s 17th birthday with a few friends. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful! The cabin was close to the beach and convenient to Galveston. The girls enjoyed the pool and the game area in the cabin. We will be back!!!

Half the amenities did not work or have all needed parts. Ceiling leaked when it rained coming through gameroom doors. Back deck at kitchen had nails sticking up some 1/2 inch. Tv at pool broken screen and couldn't enjoy the games while cooking. Maintenance staff is not reporting issue. Shower rod main floor required duck tape to keep in place.

Basic: Kitchen is bare bones.

The property has plenty of room with good covered outdoor space and pool. However, the house sleeps 16 and the kitchen only had 7 spoons. The kitchen is basic lacks enough silverware and not one baking sheet. Meals were challenging. Our advice make sure to bring all your cooking supplies.

Spring break stay

We really enjoyed the stay. The house is close to the beach so you can walk to the beach daily. The area is very clean. We did have to wait to check in as the cleaning service were there past 4 pm, but other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Family time

This was a great place for our family. Our daughter recently moved to the area and we needed a place for all of us to stay under one roof and not break the bank.The previous reviews had me a little nervous prior to our arrival. Once we arrived it was very spacious and welcoming.

The house was as described. Could have been a little cleaner. But overall great place for a large group. Weather didn’t permit for pool or beach time and unable to use barbecue pit as it was molded and very nasty. Although we wanted to use it we made it work with the oven.

A Perfect Getaway in Jamaica Beach!

We had the most amazing stay at this vacation rental in Jamaica Beach! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect. The host was incredibly responsive and made sure we felt right at home. If you're looking for a relaxing retreat with all the comforts of home and the charm of Jamaica Beach, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!

Friend Reunion

It all worked out and seeing each other as a group after many years overshadowed any issues, but the home was not as nice as photos. There had been a lot of water damage at some point and mildew and mold (I am highly allergic) was overwhelming. It was very evident in the kitchen ceiling and floors. I wish we’d known a little more about the sleeping spaces and privacy and accessibility And we also struggled all weekend to cool the house enough to be able to relax there or sleep comfortably We all loved the pool, though, and sitting poolside and catching up!.Reminiscing and being together made up for any shortcomings!

Great stay!

Great experience with this booking. Fantastic entertaining space for you and your friends. Between the pool, fire pit, games, and beautiful deck, your entire party has space to kick back and relax however they like. Location is awesome as well. The washing machine was not working, so that was the only bummer. Overall I highly recommend!

Great get away, it was just the wife and I. This facility is best suited for a family and friends.

The property appears to be clean and easy to get around. If I had children, I would not allow them on the upper decks without supervision. Some in need of repair to the railings. This property has a great swimming pool and friendly neighbors.

Don't stay here!

The couch was the worst. The kitchen ceiling was not finished out. Apparently there was a leak. The pots and pans were in such bad condition that we hadp to go buy our own to cook with. The glassware had chips and cracks. We killed several roaches

Tough Weekend

I’m general, it seemed as if this property had been off the market for a while and was just listed to get Labor Day renters. The driveway had pallets of roofing material and some of the described amenities were missing or not working. It started when we arrived at 4pm for checkin and the cleaning folks were an hour from being finished. Once we got in at 5 we immediately noticed a sewer smell throughout the downstairs caused by a broken washing machine that had a load in it and the water was rancid. We closed that bedroom door and abandoned the room. The owner tried and we had 2 visits from his maintenance team working various issues. It just made for a less enjoyable weekend. I hope he finishes the needed repairs and repairs some of the ceiling and wall damage throughout.

Given a different house

We booked the A-frame house several months prior to our stay, paid in full a month prior. 24 hours before check-in, we were notifed by the property owner/management company that the A-frame house was not available due to damage to the pool. They offered us another property, not in Jamaica Beach, but looked adequate to accommodate our group of 13. There was back and forth discussion through VRBO emailing about whether property #2 had a pool bc pics didn't show one. Commutations from owner went dark until after 10pm the night before we were set to drive the 6+ hours to Galveston. I finally got in touch with someone who confirmed the change. House number 2 was clean, big, had plenty of space for our group, etc. But in direct line of sight to the beach, essentially in the front yard, is a warehouse facility of some sort. Folks who rent property #2 should know that, but alas, I am not offered a forum to comment on that property so anything else I have to say about that house is kind of a moot point here. We did drive by the A-frame to look at it and it looks fine from the outside, if not a little "over represented" in the VRBO photos. I will add that we did not see renters occupying the A-frame house property (the house we paid for but were relocated out of). The owner made good on the change and we were ultimately satisfied with the 2nd property. I know things happen, so, whatever. But all in all, I rate the whole experience a B+. the owner

Property

The property was not what the pictures showed. The couch was falling apart as was the second floor balcony. The management company fixed the couch as well as they could but it did not last long. One of the two bathrooms was clogged up when we arrived. The flooring had tape all over to keep some of the boards down. The best part was the use of a pool.

This was perfect for my family! The grandkids absolutely loved it and said it was the best house we've been to so far. Check-in was easy and host stayed in contact with us through making sure we had what we needed. We are definitely interested in booking with this house for next year!

Great location and beautiful property

We stayed here over the Easter weekend and had a blast. The kids enjoyed the pool and ease of location to the beach. Communication with Russell was great and the property had ample space for all of us enjoy. Will definitely try to stay again.

Property is showing a bit of wear and tear but stills nice property. The beds were super comfortable. Main floor flooring is in need of repair but the home is beautiful and close to the beautiful beach where the ice cream truck drives right by. It was so nice to have salt and pepper and coffee. Incidentals were supposed like dish soap and dishwasher tabs, and laundry detergent which made the visit much nicer.

Great stay for large family

Reserved this VRBO for night before we embarked on a cruise out of Galveston. Plenty of room and beds for our crew of 14. The kids enjoyed the arcade games, ping pong table and foosball table available. We would definitely stay again.
