Great place

The condo was in a great location on the bayside. As a family we debated which side of the road would be most desirable. Both have pros. We liked having the lazy river and bay so accessible. The skywalk over to the beach is a must. Otherwise crossing the busy street would be impossible. Waiting for the elevator was never a problem. We loved having a grill and the wagon was a lifesaver. Perfect size for our family of 6. Not sure we could have fit the rest of our crew (4) more without being on top of each other.

OUR FAVORITE STAY

We love this condo and the location. This is our second time to stay here and it has never disappointed. The pool staff has gotten stricter over the course of two years. No cans are allowed near the pool and lazy river and the kids can’t have a water ball to throw back and forth, other than these things everything was wonderful!!! You’re right in the middle of soo much! We will be back!

We had our baby with us, so having a high chair provided was extremely convenient. They also had a pack and play, although we brought our own. Very nice to be baby friendly. That being said, the first night we arrived, the assumption would be that the condo had just been cleaned, but when our baby walked through the kitchen/den area with no shoes/socks, his feet were completely black. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Family vacation

this is our third year in a row that we have been to the Destin West beach and Bay resort for family vacation. Our kids are 13, 16, and 18. We let them each bring a friend. There was something to do for all of them close by. it makes it nice when they don’t need to run around outside of the resort in order to entertain themselves. This was one of our favorite properties on site! We will be back

Perfect family vacation!

This was our second time staying at Destin west on the bay side. There was 6 total of us that stayed in the condo! We loved being on the 1st level and having walking access to the pool. While eating on our patio area we could watch our family going around on the lazy river. The room was very clean and very spacious! Will definitely be back again

family vacation

excellent location. The only complaint was the sliding glass door was extremely difficult to open. Patio right off the lazy river with plenty of room for 6 and great patio area. We will look to stay here again. Thanks for helping to make memories.

Very acceptable

Our stay at Destin West L07 was wonderful. We were close to everything we needed! The condo was clean, all the beds were comfortable except for the master bed it was a little hard for us. This condo is the perfect size for a family of 6 or more. Very kid friendly, our 4 year old loved being so close to the lazy river and just steps away from the beach! We will definitely stay here again!

Great unit but disappointed that it had been smoked in

The condo was great to fit our needs of space. We had an amazing vacation and really appreciated being able to check in early. An issue I had was the condo smelling like it had been smoked in. We tried air freshener but it continued. When we arrived home all of our clothes in our suitcases smelled like smoke. Also, for such a spacious family unit I was disappointed that there weren’t any beach chairs available to use as previous units at Destin West that we have rented have provided.

Absolutely Fantastic

Best vacation ever! Was lucky to get an early check in. Clean condo with beautiful surroundings! Pools , ocean and jacuzzi all within a few steps! Can’t wait to come back next year!! Highly recommend for families and/or adults!!

This condo is beautiful and very clean! Perfect location. Facilities are meticulously maintained. The beds are comfortable. Water pressure is beyond great! The lanai is huge and has beautiful outdoor grill area. You are literally steps from the lazy river!

We loved the condo and resort, the quick walk to the pool and lazy river was perfect for us. The kids can’t wait to come back! Having the extra twin pullout chairs was exactly what we needed for the younger kids!

Fall Break

Everything was great. Except there was an obvious issue with the dishwasher for there were pretty dirty dishes in the cabinet that were supposed to be clean. The property manager was great with communication but Bc the dishwasher needed to be replaced, we were hand washing dishes for more than half of our vacation :( We understand. Just a shame for this momma on vacation! Otherwise. Great spot. Awesome pool. Nice condo. Fun vacation!!!!

Disappointed

Pretty disappointed in this property especially after the raving reviews of cleanliness and location. Our first evening there we noticed our feet were turning black from walking around the condo (we don’t wear shoes inside because we have 2 young children) it was a Sunday so I knew management wouldn’t send anyone until the following day and I couldn’t take how dingy it felt so I mopped myself. I had to mop the whole place 3 times to finally get the floors clean- there is NO WAY that the cleaners did anything but vacuum this place before we got there. As someone who runs my own cleaning business I would be embarrassed of the so called cleaning job done here. Then I started noticing more things the cleaners did not even do, dusting being included. The doors, walls, baseboards and most furniture hadn’t been dusted in a LONG time. The shower had mold spots in it, it also didn’t drain properly so you stood in a few inches of water as you showered which is pretty gross. The rugs were so dirty and dingy they felt yucky to walk on. I had to clean off the keurig myself even. As far as location, it’s not a very quick walk to the beach.. if you use the bridge that goes over the road you have to use 3 separate elevators to make it to the beach, one set was broken during our stay so we were walking 3 flights of stairs with 2 young kids and beach toys. It honestly became easier to cross the busy 4 lanes of traffic than deal with the elevators/steps - which the traffic is another thing. The pool and the lazy River were nice, we did enjoy that especially because crossing to the beach was quite the hassle. The general location of the building is great as far as close to everything, but also extremely difficult to pull out of either direction because of the traffic along the road. It would take us over 5 minutes to even take a right out of the complex most times. The location of the room/condo itself is nice because it’s easy access to the pool. The listing stated “the kitchen is stocked with everything to make a gourmet meal or even snacks for the day” yet there was nothing but pots, pans and utensils. And some oil. Just overall expected WAY more from this place based on the description and even reviews, but came out highly disappointed.

We love this place

Great space. Comfortable beds. Didn't find enough pillow cases for the number of pillows, but bedding for extra beds and sleeper sofas is often an issue anywhere. Thankfully we brought a few of our own pillows and blankets. Easy access to pools.

Love Destin West!

We have stayed at Destin West 3 times. It has been great each time. We have stayed beach front as well as on the bay side lanai unit. Bayside is the preferred place for my family. I love to cook on the grill while the rest of the gang plays in the lazy river or pool. I highly recommend this resort as well as this unit!
