Due to the major flooding disaster from 19th May25 over the whole Mid North Coast region of NSW with roads closed and towns isolated, it became very obvious I wouldn’t be able to make the motel booking, even though I was already in transit a few days prior. Contacting the motel before my due arrival date, albeit just within the 2pm 48hrs check-in cancellation period, the owner of this Forster and Wallis Lake Motel refused a refund OR to reschedule! I would have thought under the extreme and mitigating circumstance my polite request to reschedule my booking to a later date in the year was not much to ask, but received a condescending unable to help justification excuse, hiding behind the booking agent limitations. It’s important to highlight that another motel that I had a multiple night booking with (via a booking agent) in Coffs Harbour were very courteous and compassionate, contacting me directly and providing assistance with rescheduling dates to a later period with no further costs involved, very professional… unlike Forster and Wallis Lake Motel. There are other worthy Motels nearby which in future will receive my custom!!!
