2/10 Terrible

We stayed at a Lucca Apartments property in Florence booked through Vrbo. At check-in, we were given only one key for a group of four. When we raised this concern the local property manager confirmed in writing that a set of keys from prior renters had not been returned and that the locks had not been changed. On the third day, the apartment was burglarized while we were at dinner. When we returned, the door was closed and locked with no signs of forced entry. Cash, clothing, and personal belongings were taken.Police came to the apartment and a formal report was filed. Given the prior written disclosure about missing keys and unchanged locks, we did not feel safe remaining and moved to a hotel that night. We provided Lucca Apartments with documentation, including written messages, photos, and the police report, and requested reimbursement. They denied reimbursement and all responsibility. We also received written communication from LUCCA’s legal representative stating they would not reimburse us and warning of potential legal action if we post any negative reviews and that they are constantly monitoring all booking platforms. This review reflects our documented experience.
