Good Location

The Buenavista is a fairly basic 1 star hotel on the seafront with a busy road in front and hence a little noisy. However it is one of the few hotels in the centre of town and a good place to stay in order to explore the old town. Lots of great restaurants nearby and lively paces to have a drink.

The Hotel Buenavista occupies a prime front line location in the centre of Estepona. It is not a swish upmarket commercial enterprise, but a traditional antiquated Spanish hotel serving those of us who just love finding places like this that are friendly, comfortable and fairly priced. I was a single maie visitor and given a room overlooking the sea front and sea. It had a very comfortable double bed, ensuite bathroom with bath & shower. The windows had blackout curtains (a must have) and the aircondioner was reversible (hot/cold). The room was kept nicely warm for the cool January evenings! The front reception was manned 24 hours per day which is extremely worthwhile when traveling by night flight into Malaga airport and then by bus to Estepona. Being adjacent to old town is so convenient for all the bars and restaurants, Estepona is such a nice Spanish town and not overrun by noisy tourists (not during my visit). If you're looking for somewhere plush to post online, then you'll not be satisfied here, but if you're an adventurer happy to see what comes up, you'll not be disappointed with the Buenavista.

Its an older hotel but you can't beat the location! Lovely to hear the waves crashing on the beach at night. Central location. Vintage Rick Steves kind of vibe. Could use an update, but I wouldn't hesitate going again. Very friendly night staff!

Cheap and nearly cheerful.

Cheap and in the right place. Got back to room at 4.30pm after a long tiring day hoping for a snooze before going out to eat. The room had not been done. I thought 'sod it', locked the door and lay on the bed. Only to be woken up 20mins later by housekeeping hammering on the door. They did not get a warm welcome! And I could have done without the previous occupant 's hair decorating the bottom of the bath.
