Very nice property that was exactly as described. It provided a nice base for Galcier National Park. The only negative was the train which is very loud when trying to sleep. Other than that, it was wonderful.

Fun experience!
So fun to stay in this well designed glamping location right by Glacier. The outdoor shower just added to the experience! The train noise wasn’t a big deal- and those who were concerned were fine with the earplugs provided by the host.

Memorable Vacay the Yurt Way!
For a family of five who hasn’t done a lot of camping, this was a perfect stay! It was a great opportunity to disconnect from phones and connect with nature! The location was convenient to the Flathead River and accessing GNP from the east side or west side.

Yurt stay
We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was as promised and it was located nicely between East and West Glacier.
The place was clean, the kitchen had all we needed to cook and eat. The trains can be noisy but once we fell asleep we slept pretty good.

Majestic Yurt!!
We stayed for 5 wonderful nights and enjoyed the yurt immensely. It was comfortable and cozy for our family of 5. The deck was our favorite for relaxing mornings and evenings. We stayed here to be close to GNP and all the amazing hikes, but we ended up feeling torn wanting to stay and relax at the property instead. The luxury latrine worked well and was honestly better than expected. The huckleberry picking was plentiful. The train horns were the only downfall, but we got used to them quickly. Pete was quick to respond to all of our queries. We were sad to leave and hope to return someday.

Yurt
Overall, the Yurt was a fun experience for us all. It was beautiful inside, it was clean, the Latrine was clean and the surrounding area was beautiful. It’s a relatively short drive to the west Glacier entrance, there is a river nearby and hiking/biking trails nearby. I would definitely stay there again, it would have just been nice to know the following to be better prepared:
1. Instructions on how to get to the property should be more clear. Since there’s no cell service, you’ll need your maps started before leaving cell service. After the small sign on the highway there are no additional directions/signs and Apple Maps does not take you right to the unit. There’s also a gait across the road that goes to the yurt, which makes it seem that’s not the correct property. If it had been dark when we got there, I’m not sure we would have found it.
2. The listing says there is an AC unit, which makes me think the unit is completely outfitted with all typical appliances. There is no refrigerator. That works out ok in the winter, but not the summer. Bring a cooler with ice when staying there in the summer.
3. The unit is right by the railroad tracks with frequent trains running day and night. In reviewing the listing, it says it is on railway land, but I didn’t expect to be right by the train. Ear plugs are provided, but if you’re a light sleeper, it will be difficult to sleep.
We enjoyed the electronic-free time, something we should all do more often!

The perfect retreat
Our family loved our time at Great Bear Yurt. It is clear that Pete loves this place - he provided us with recommendations on what to do when we weren’t hiking in the park and even let us pick huckleberries on his property. The yurt was clean and beautiful and we wished we could have stayed much longer!

Exactly what we were looking for
What an absolute treasure of a place to stay! Beds were comfortable, which was great after our long hikes. We found a trailhead within just a few minutes of the yurt (Lake Marion), which had no other hikers on it. Our kids loved it, and we dreamt of building our own. If we are ever back in the area, we would certainly stay again.
