The property was not ADA compliant. Elevator out for over a week, only rooms available were 2 or 3 floors up. Clerk who checked us in told us to take it or leave it. Clearly not a family oriented business -- given a long list to sign up on checking in of reasons we would be kicked out, such as having the police called. When I asked if that happens, was told "sometimes." Would not stay here again.

When we arrived the lights were off in the corridors (safety issue). The pool filtration was off and water was filthy (health department violation). At mid afternoon the AC would turn off and heat would be pumped into the room. You had to turn the temp down to 68 in order to start cooing the room down and then an hour later you had to adjust the temp to 75 so you wouldn’t freeze. Would not recommend this motel to anyone. Very disapointing.

We got a room that was open concept with a fireplace and a tub with jets a queen and bunk beds on the top floor. The room was 80 degrees when we got there and we check the ac and set it to 70. An hour later and our boy all red in the face it was 81. The said they would send maintenance but just sent normal staff that changed the thermostat once and said ya it’s not set on 80. We needed to get our littlest to bed soon and couldn’t in those conditions so asked for a new room. We got a room on the first floor not open concept with 1 king and a pull out bed. Also the folks above us were apparently practicing wrestling moves the entire night and hulk smashing the floor. Also came across several insects in the room. We stayed here just because of splash lagoon but it was 100% not worth the convenience. We won’t be staying here the next visit to splash lagoon.

Attached to Splash Lagoon water Park. This hotel is a great option for families looking for a quick getaway. The hotel is kid friendly and this wouldn't be a quiet option for someone passing through, looking to rest.

The entrance was not marked and difficult to find to check in. The building was outdated and certain amenities in the room didn’t work. We were given the same room as someone else. The manager on shift was apologetic and helpful. Service from staff was great - just not the most welcoming building.

Definitely worth checking out.

Employees extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel dated, but budget friendly. Breakfast was decent. Hotel is connected to other hotels as well as a restaurant and an indoor (separate pay option),from the hotel price. Definitely worth stay.

We had an amazing stay at Hawthorne suites motel we lived the way the room was set up like a lil apt all you needed to do was bring your own food they provided you with everything u needed. We're staying there again in may for my son's birthday. Wonder experience the only thing I wish they had was fruit and pastry with the breakfast.

Went for a quick get-away for spring break. We did not want to utilize the attached indoor water park this visit so we loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Especially loved the fact it was basically empty until the water park closed. Went with a 12, 6, 4 and 2 year old and a 2 month old with 3 adults. The 2 bedroom suit with three beds, two baths, pull out sofa and kitchen was absolutely perfect. We previously stayed at a different attached hotel and will definitely be switching to this for future trips. Staff very friendly. Only slight negative was the breakfast area. Just oddly placed and cramped when busy.

Overall, the rooms and surrounding areas were very dirty and unkempt. The hotel needs a serious update. Everything in the rooms and public areas were very worn and damaged looking. The bathroom was dirty when we arrived. Pee was still in the toilet and hair was on the counter. Pool area was dirty, lots of hair in pool water, ants and garbage on tiles around pool. Hot tub was also broken, the heater was not working, they said it wouldn’t be working till Monday. Staff was friendly, however most were smoking right outside the main doors. We could smell weed through the halls as we walked to our room. Despite signing a waiver at check in that specified no smoking of any kind. We also had a Co2 alarm/ smoke detector that kept chirping very loudly. When someone was sent up after we called they said the system was wired in and they could do nothing other than check to make sure there was no Co2 in our room. We called prior to check in and requested a roll away bed, we were informed that we would have to request one at check in. Upon arrival we requested a bed and was told they would bring one up. It never arrived, we had to call and request one a second time. Which they finally sent up around 8pm. Despite being close to splash lagoon this hotel has very little going for it. I would not recommend staying here.
