Edinburgh Festival Glamping – a calm, comfortable base in the heart of festival season
Escape the crowds without missing a moment of the magic at Edinburgh Festival Glamping, a unique glamping retreat set within the beautiful walled garden of Merchiston Castle. Thoughtfully designed for festival-goers, performers, and city explorers alike, this peaceful hideaway offers the perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and character during the world-famous Edinburgh festivals.
Your private bell tent
Each spacious bell tent is exclusively yours, comfortably sleeping up to four guests—ideal for friends, families, or fellow festival artists. All bedding is fully provided, so you can arrive, unpack, and settle in straight away without the hassle of camping gear.
For added peace of mind, every tent is lockable. We recommend bringing your own padlock, though locks are also available to purchase at check-in.
A calm retreat after a busy day
While the city buzzes with performances and late nights, our site is designed to remain a quiet, respectful space.
No amplified music between 10pm and 7am
The campsite becomes a quiet zone from 10pm onwards, ensuring restful nights for all guests
Smoking, vaping, and open flames are not permitted within 5 metres of the bell tents
This makes the site especially popular with Fringe performers and guests who value good sleep before another full day of shows and sightseeing.
On-site amenities for a relaxed stay
Guests can enjoy a range of practical and social facilities, including:
Hot shower rooms
On-site parking
A dedicated barbecue area (BBQs permitted in designated zones only)
A tranquil “secret garden” social space
Charging points for phones and devices
Bins provided throughout the site for convenience and cleanliness
Everything is laid out to make your stay easy, comfortable, and stress-free.
Perfectly placed for festivals and sightseeing
Located just 10–15 minutes from the city centre, Edinburgh Festival Glamping offers an affordable and welcoming alternative to city hotels. Whether you’re heading to Fringe venues, exploring historic streets, or discovering hidden cafés, you’re never far from the action of Edinburgh—yet always able to retreat to calm surroundings at the end of the day.
More than just a festival stay
Although especially popular during August, this quiet glamping spot is ideal for anyone wanting to experience “Auld Reekie” without the noise and crowds of central accommodation. It’s a chance to enjoy the city by day and unwind in nature by night—something truly special during Edinburgh’s busiest season.
Edinburgh Festival Glamping combines the charm of outdoor living with the comforts you actually want, all in a setting that feels hidden, relaxed, and refreshingly different.
