We booked a junior suite room 201.It must be stressed THIS IS NOT A HOTEL IT IS BEST DESCRIBED AS AN AVERAGE BUT EXTREMELY NOISY AIR BNB Without a doubt this was the noisiest room I have ever stayed in.It overlooked a main road plus one of the two windows that were meant to open would not shut, hence more noise from the traffic.By 2.00am the traffic was then replaced by trucks painting white lines on the road outside our room.No soon er had they finished then the rush hour started.Thank goodness it was only one night otherwise we would have left and gone elsewhere

This hotel is just two blocks from the octagon where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Also with in walking of many sites you would want to see and museums. Hotel was comfortable, clean, and quiet. We had a kitchen and there was a grocery store within three blocks so we could breakfast in the suite. Having a separate bedroom allowed for one early riser to be able to hang out in living area and have coffee . Convenient to almost everything

Easy walks to settlers museum, old prison tour, and railroad station where we took a trip into the rural area inland. A lot of students drinking during their winter holidays, but the hotel is sufficiently off the octagon that there wasn’t much noise.bring your own electrical adapters!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Chamberson. Great location right in the middle of the city. Self check-in was okay, parking was okay but low ceiling does really restrict size of vehicle. We had a mid size SUV and no issues.

Here’s a polished and more fluid version of your review: We were dropped off right at the doorstep by the airport shuttle in central Dunedin, which was so convenient. The hotel kindly stored our bags while we explored, and we popped into Maggie’s, one of the many charming cafes surrounding the area. Our room was lovely—tucked up in the eaves, it featured a large, comfortable bed, hot drink facilities, and a gorgeous ensuite complete with luxurious toiletries and fluffy towels. For dinner, we headed to the Octagon, a perfect spot with its many bars and restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a relaxing drink in this vibrant setting, just a short walk from the hotel. When we returned, we closed the skylight, making the room so dark and cozy that we slept for hours—absolutely perfect! For this price point, it was an excellent experience overall.

Choose this property for it location in proximity to the Octagon. Had tickets for a performance at the Regent, which was a few minutes walk away, and the dining establishments were numerous and close by. It is a self check in, which works well, just be sure to read your email for door codes and parking information. Cleaning staff is available in the morning only. No staff on site, during the afternoon or evening.
