The room was great as were the staff. But the bedside lights not working, having to move furniture to get to the switch for the TV was not good. They have always had a limited menu which could do with expanding but the worst thing was the buffet hot breakfast. Only scrambled eggs, not good, the rest was not hot. The fried bread was OK. Such a shame as the breakfast was one of the highlights of my last stay. Apparently they put on the buffet when they are busy but I don't think being busy should be an excuse for such a shabby effort. Before I book again I will check if they have changed this policy.

Staff are very good, lots of good food places nearby. Rooms are of a good size. Only downside I noticed was that the pillows and duvet definitely need changing. The hotel location is very convenient for Derby , Nottingham and Leicester. Of course I would book again.

Front of house looks quite good when you arrive, with friendly staff but everthing else from room cleanliness, to working electrics in the room, to choice and quality of breakfast, definetely needs some TLC. However, it was a good price and has free parking so, for what I needed (3 nights solo accomodation whilst helping my son do some DIY on his house) it was adequate.

Room was ok, but a bit run down and shabby bits that need repair. Excellent shower, but a very dodgy hairdryer. Room and bathroom not cleaned well. Hairs on bedding and in bath. Plenty of them. Staff, especially front of house, didn’t seem bothered and not welcoming. Room was freezing upon entry and radiator had to be turned on at reception. Took a couple of hours to become warmer. Please improve quality of sausages and eggs for breakfast, but will say that toast, hand and mushrooms were very good.

This was just the ticket for me - competitively priced, good location and clean place to stay whilst visiting family nearby. I would describe it as 'functional' not necessarily where you would stay as a destination but good if you need somewhere to stay en route to where you are going or attending a conference etc. Breakfast had everything you would expect.

There was this ever present weird smell... of old? Wasn't alone in it, as pretty much every other room seemed to have their windows open even though it was raining and cold outside. Otherwise I couldn't have complaint, but it is a rather big deal that nearly ruins the stay.
