The host was very kind and accommodating, and the home offers some great amenities. The game/movie room was a hit, and the bar area—though small—was a cozy bonus. I also really liked the kitchen, dining room, and living area. The neighborhood is quiet, and the people in the area were very nice, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. However, we did run into a few issues. One bathroom had sand in the toilet and shower, and the master bedroom floor was sandy. The most disappointing issue was the bedding and shower curtains. They were white but had yellow stains. The host said they were Clorox stains, but regardless, white linens should look clean. It was embarrassing, especially since family members chipped in for this stay. The backyard also needs better maintenance. The covered jacuzzi had leaves in it, the hammock was dirty, and overall the area looked neglected. Even though it had been raining, it didn’t appear that this was just from a recent storm—more like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Before checkout, plumbing became an issue—showers caused the toilets to bubble, and eventually, none would flush. Possibly related to the sand. There are train tracks behind the homes across the street. While the train is loud, it doesn’t pass often, and the sound didn’t bother us.Overall, the home has potential. With improved cleaning and maintenance, it could be a great stay. I would stay again.
