The house was not the issue, it was everything before we even got check in information. My initial reservation was canceled because VRBO sent an alert to the owners that the reservation was suspicious. After an hour on the phone the owner agreed to rent to us as the alert was an error on VRBO’s end. So I reserved the house under my VRBO account again and paid with my husbands CC. I WAS charged, then the owner wanted to know why I used a CC with a different name, I explained it’s my husband who has the same last name. Well because of that, they made my husband send a written statement saying he approved this charge, along with a picture of our CC, a picture of my husbands ID, and a selfie of him holding his ID before they would release the house info, again they had already charged us, and a refund was not an option. They also want to know who all is coming and their ages, #of vehicles, reason for visit and if you will have visitors and how many. After all that, they wanted a selfie of me holding my ID. Then, you will have the option of a non-refundable 80 damage fee or they will hold another 450 on our card which we you may get back after you check out. I started to think these people are going to steal our identity and rob us! The house is in a nice neighborhood with cars parked ALL up and down the street, yet the owners told us that we could not park on the street under the threat of a 450 fine, and said it was a city ordinance!
