I understand kentucky is a welfare state, but it doesnā€™t have to show through the dilapidated buildings and the welfare food. Orbit states that the cabins are a deluxe cabin yet when we got there, what we were given was a duplex joke of a cabin. Double check before you do anything else with orbits because theyā€™re even worse than the resort!

Room was clean and comfortable. The room was loud due to creaking floor and creaking for sound after A/C ran. The doors stuck so doors were slammed whenever people left their rooms. Room had not soap at the sink and no holder for the toilet paper.

This place is old, and the rooms reflect that. No counterspace on the sink. It didnā€™t feel clean. We couldnā€™t get in our room until it was inspected and once we did we found stuff on the bathroom floor, including a dime, and absolutely no soap. I cannot imagine what they were inspecting for. They used to serve a real breakfast in years past. You would sit in the restaurant, order and pay. Now itā€™s only continental seven days per week. As I have a gluten allergy I basically was able to drink milk and juice, and eat some fruit. Most everything else was bread, muffins or sweet rolls which was a huge disappointment! This place has a communal balcony with an excellent view of the river and forest! The view is truly lovely, but not enough to bring me back to ever stay here again.

We had no hot water, didn't find this out until 9:00 pm. Was moved to another unit. That unit had been sitting, and the floors had dirt/sand that would get on the bottom of our feet. These units are great little cottages, just know they are duplex buildings, the pictures on line are a little miss leading, not the end of the world. For what it cost me per night, the beds need to be updated. They were terrible, my whole body hurt when I woke up. I wouldn't stay just because of the beds. It really is a nice place, but it's not perfect.

The Inn is beginning a remodel soon. That is the answer to pretty much every question about the facility at this time. Itā€™s a lovely place, but desperately needs the remodel. Plan to go after the remodel is complete. The Falls never disappoint!

Great location to see the falls and hike. Hotel was quiet and clean. Be sure to look to see if the restraunt is open, as it was closed for our 2 night stay. Closest town is a 30 minute ride for dinner or you can grab burgers at the falls if the snack bar is open. The included breakfast was rather disappointing. It was a cereal bar, which included light yogurt and juice/coffee, no hot food.

Staff was excellent and went over and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The resort needs some sprucing up, especially outdoors, pretty outdated inside the resort and rooms. But it was clean and had a rustic feeling which was really neat.

STAY ELSEWHERE Iā€™m going to start at beginning of our experience we are at the DuPont lodge and we check in and go to the room and my wife checks the beds as normal and one had hair on it so we had to change the sheets , we leaver to go hiking and come back to eat 1 hour before the close at the restaurant below the hotel ,Riverview , and nothing really left on the buffet so I decided not to eat my granddaughter only got 2 scoops of mashed potatoes and my wife got a older salad and a tea 2 cokes , now think old salad small portion of potatoes and they charge us $36.00 ,they said they couldnā€™t break it up because she got potatoes off food bar sheā€™s 10 and they charges us $36 my wife complained and as walking up the stairs the ladies was laughing at her which is totally wrong , we set outside then I came back in to front desk ask for a manager and the girl said no one was here , I ask if I could see them in the morning and answer was not sure if they will be here , pretty sad situation Iā€™m spending a evening writing review

The scenery and setting was beautiful. However, the facility could use some sprucing up. The restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday, so you had to drive 15 miles or so to get food. Also, the pool was closed the entire time we were there. I would have been further ahead to stay at the Holiday Inn in Corbin and drive to the falls. Overall, the setting was wonderful, but the facility and the atmosphere was dull, and past it's glory days. I would think the state would invest some money into the place because it could be a real jewel of a place to stay.
