The property was fantastic, I wish we had longer to enjoy it properly. We arrived in Colombo for one night, we went into the city and didn’t like it. Thank goodness we had such a fab hotel to come back to, I’d return to this city just for the hotel!

We had a sea facing room. Great view. Infinity pool on top floor. Lots of dining options within walking distance or an inexpensive uber tuktuk ride away. For those who like dosas there is a restaurant called A2B a couple of blocks away facing the sea, 5 min walk. Japanese loo in the bathroom! Loved this. Train station opposite the hotel, but these are not frequent and it didn’t bother us.

All the places like reception, breakfast hall and even rooms are very congested. Cleaning is ok but amenities are looks older. Sofa and chairs in room are not comfortable. Housekeeping service slow. I cannot say its worth as prices are high and facilities are less.

Hotel generally clean, service was absolutely terrible - they only staff interns on reception which makes it unbearably slow. When staff accidentally damaged items of ours which they acknowledged and agreed to refund yet never did and since we left the hotel they now refuse. I wouldn’t recommend this purely on that basis.

ロケーションは最高。 まさにインド洋が眼下に広がり、完全なオーシャンフロント。 シェラトンなどは一歩奥まった通りに面しているため、ロケーションだけ取ってみると当ホテルの圧勝。 あと日本の会社がやっているだけあってウォシュレットが部屋の中に設置されているのは有り難い。 しかし、悪いことつが2つ。 1つは料理が致命的にマズいこと。 朝のビュッフェ、それと一度夜のビュッフェも食べた。品数はそれなりに充実しているし、食材のクオリティもまあまあ高い。スリランカ料理を初め、各国の料理が用意されているのだが、全体の1割程度のスリランカ料理はまあまあ美味しいのだが、その他各国料理が極めて不味い。 多分一度も本当の各国の料理を食べたことがないシェフ達がインターネットなどを見て、こんなものだろう、と想像で作っているレベル。 ほぼ全てのメニューが壊滅的に不味い。 2つ目は部屋の中には完全にベッドしかないこと。 部屋自体はとてもモダンでカッコいいのだが、机も椅子もないのが、こんなに不便だとは思わなかった。 飲み物もベッドサイドの小さな台に置かないといけないし、PCはベッドの上にしか置く所がないので、不自由極まりない。 なぜ椅子や小さくても良いから机ぐらい用意していないのか？

We had a lovely stay at Granbell Hotel Colombo. It closed out our two week stay in Sri Lanka, and was one of our highlights. The hotel itself is modern, comfortable and well located. The rooms are incredibly well suited for couples - perfectly sized and with an amazing view (if you are debating, upgrade to a sea view)! My only complaint is that the menu prices exclude VAT, and you are unaware of this until you receive your first bill! It means that the hotel is unfortunately very unreasonable for food and drink for Sri Lanka - but there are plenty of eating options in Colombo.

Over all the property is quite good. It had a similar design compare to Grand park city hall hotel. Layout and everything almost the same but just not as clean as Singapore. Would visit again if I’m in the area. View point is definitely the money shot for this hotel

Hotel was lovely, staff were great, but make sure you explain clearly what you’d like for room service as the have Us rice instead of noodles… twice! Also if booking through Expedia for 2 adults and a child make sure your bedding is correct as we received a king bed only!
