You are close to hiking, rafting, canoeing, fishing and hunting, or just enjoying the mountains.

Need inspiration to work? Look no further! Magnificent unobstructed mountain views with your own blueberry field in the back, this property has close to seven acres of land surrounding it. A working fireplace completes the ambience.

Grill or smoke your favorite meats on the Green Egg with unforgettable views on a covered patio over 900 square feet in size.

Chef's kitchen with a gas stove and three ovens provide plenty of space to cook for a large crowd. A washer and dryer, and two hot water tanks (so you have PLENTY of hot water) will make this luxurious retreat feel like your home away from home. The kitchen is well-equipped with cookware and dining ware and has a full range of options for making coffee, along with an Insta-Pot and waffle iron.

**IMPORTANT** The road leading to the property is a private, winding and narrow gravel road with low tree cover in many places. It is not suited for low or large RVs, or certain sports cars. I have driven several cars to the property as I fly to Atlanta and rent a car to get to the property. The lowest car I have driven was a Kia Rio without issue. However, certain guests have reported challenges driving a low car. Remember - these are rugged, mountainous and wooded areas!

You may encounter wildlife on the property or on the roads. Please drive carefully and safely on all roads leading to Jewel of the Woods.

Loud music and excessive noise is strictly forbidden.

Beautiful, clean cabin, great communication with host, close to Highlands with great shops and restaurants. Convenient to hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. The road back to the house is very narrow with some rough spots, so take your time! Disregard the signs that say “turn around “ and “not welcome.” We felt very welcome, and will definitely consider coming back in the future.

Ran into some issues with the ditch being fixed right outside of the access driveway, which confused us and required a lot of discussion to determine what was going on and whether we were able to use the road. They were incredibly kind about it, and they answered pretty quickly after we asked, but we do wish it had been communicated either to us or the owners so they could tell us prior to the construction. We also had some internet connection issues, but it seemed to be an issue with the cable’s beyond the house rather than the house itself. Just make sure to prepare to have no wifi- which we were all pretty good with since there was so much to do in the area. Only issue with no wifi was trying to communicate with each other and the owners and having issues navigating the area, even with the offline maps we downloaded. The owners themselves were pretty communicative at all times of day about things we inquired about. Be sure to follow their advice regarding the area- which they provide in lots of detail before your stay! Beautiful view, gorgeous & unique decor, lots of space to have a big group of adults for a cabin in the woods hiking trip. Lots of butterflies, hummingbirds, and bats so keep your eye out if you like fauna. There was rustling in the woods too so you may be able to see some bigger fauna if you’re able to see farther out than us. We were also told to pick some blueberries- and they were delicious! Elevated our breakfasts while we were there :)
View from the back porch over the blueberry farm.
Construction at gate- resolved & explained by owners/repairman once contacted
Butterfly bush right next to stairs that attracts a good amount of beautiful butterflies

The cabin was excellent. Matches the pictures if not better. Cabin is in very good shape with lots of extras including those blueberry bushes which the entire group enjoyed.Road into area is windy and gravel for quite a stretch but a Toyota Camry had no issues.Do understand that cell phone coverage isn't just spotty at the cabin but starts 15-20 minutes out but honestly isn't an issue once you get wifi on-site. Wifi was weak at times but once again not a showstopper.

Beautiful property with a few quirks

This home is situated on a beautiful, remote property. The views are outstanding. The layout is great and accommodated our large family group very well. It was not the cleanest property we have stayed at, and the wifi is not very reliable, so keep that in mind if you are planning to work or need internet. We had no issues with the neighbors. We loved seeing the farm animals across the street daily.

Gorgeous views and home

We had a wonderful experience at the Jewel in the Woods! The gps navigated us directly to the place! The views were phenomenal and the house was impressive! The beds were comfortable and each room had its own bathroom! The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and all the things you would have at home at more. We enjoyed every bit of the home and only wished we had more time off from work to stay longer! The people are so friendly and Renata was wonderful and communicated very well! I highly recommend!

Highlands Wedding Weekend Retreat

Well pleased with overall condition of property. House is very spacious and has an excellent open floorplan to promote group gathering on main floor, yet provides privacy for individuals/couples on the second and lower floors. If "life in the country" is what you want, the "Jewel of the Woods" will not disappoint.

This cabin was beautiful. The views were amazing! The cabin was super clean and very well stocked. One of the best rental properties we've stayed at in a long time. Lots of room for families. The host and property manager were so great. Very quick to respond. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful home and beautiful views!!

We had a wonderful stay and loved the amazing views! The house is incredibly well stocked, the best I’ve been too as far as having every little thing you could think of. We had so much fun picking blueberries! We made blueberry pancakes each morning and blueberry cobbler for dessert! We drove to Secret Falls and did the apx 2 mile hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end you can swim to. Overall it was a wonderful stay! Renata is very thorough, kind and responsive!

Truly the Jewel of the Woods

An absolute wonderful house and property for my family! We had three sets of adults and 6 children ranging from infant to seven years old. All of us enjoyed the house immensely. While the views from the back porch rivaled, if not exceeded other mountain homes we’ve visited, the unique property allowed our children to play outside safely. The home was stocked with the necessities plus more, including the kitchen. When we weren’t cooking on the Green Egg or sitting by a warm fire, we spent time in Highlands NC which was less than 20 minutes away. Overall this house was perfect and would highly recommend!!!

Beautiful view

A beautiful house with a beautiful view too! Very well stocked kitchen and lots of games to play too! The “no airbnb or vrbo” signs posted along the way are a little unsettling and caused a delay in our family arrival, but we understand the owner does not control that. Located about 40 minutes from the nearest grocery store, but a great place to relax and unwind! Overall, a great house!

Peaceful retreat

Coming from Richmomd, VA, the drive over was breathtaking. Our family who tagged along were not used to mountain roads and needed anti-nauseous meds for the travel to town and back. Our gps directions to get to the property were incorrect and got turned around on Three forks trail. There were signs from neighbors saying " not welcome". A kind neighbor pointed us in the right direction and were delighted with the amazing accomodations and views. We made sure to experience all that the house provided and the nature around us. This house is quite amazing; giving you a choice to unplug and the wifi to keep you connected (or give kids quiet movie time while the adults relax on the balcony). Our family is definitely going to visit again.

Great get together house in secluded area.

The house is warm and friendly with lots of space. Plenty of cooking utensils and a good sized kitchen. Large family style farm table for serving meals. Spectacular view of the mountains off of the rear decks. We had 8 adults in our party and the spacious kitchen, living room, dining area and outdoor spaces had ample room for all. The only downside to our stay was when the well water system failed and we had to leave a day early. The owner was very apologetic and is going to refund one days stay. We highly recommend this mountain house and we would stay there again.

Spacious and comfortable home nestled in the North GA mountains just 7 miles from Highlands, NC. Our family of 14 have stayed in homes in TN, NC and GA. This was rated as one of the bed. Spacious deck for those evening family moments. Owner was very responsive and hospitable. Neighbors anti-rental vacationers are to be ignored. Great place with blueberry bushes!

Beautiful Views and Great Place for a large family to Gather

We had a good time at this lodge. It was fairly well appointed and quite comfortable. The GPS sent us on a wrong road and there are signs on the way to the house that say VRBO NOT WELCOMED. So, I guess just ignore those and don't be too concerned. We talked to some neighbors and they were nice.

Great home with a magnificent view!

We can not say enough good things about this property! My sister and I rented this home for our 83 year old mother (who happens to be on a walker) on our trip to the mountains. We also had several grown grandkids come stay with us so there were 3 generations staying under one roof. The interior of the home is warm and inviting and made with beautiful wood. We even had a fire in the fireplace during our stay which was so nice. The house has the best layout, the main floor was easy for my mom to access right off the covered carpet area. She could easily get around from her bedroom to the kitchen area and even to the rear porch. I think I spent most of my time out on the covered back porch just staring at the amazing view. The older grandkids spent a lot of time playing ping pong downstairs and roaming the property. This home has so much space to accommodate a large group without feeling crowded. The large kitchen is a great area to gather and cook together. There is ample seating at the island and dining room tables. The location was right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. We went into Highlands to shop, Dillard to eat, and hiked many waterfalls in the area. You will not be disappointed renting this home, bring your whole family.
