Overall, this property was not bad. The management company that ran this listing had lightning quick responses to my questions. Check in was easy as it was a lock box outside. Location is great. Very safe. Close to cafes and restaurants. There is a train station about 20-30 minute walk, depending on how fast you walk. Washer laundry in the back, shared with other residents and free.
The cons
I think this is a con for most short term rental property. Floors are not the cleanest. I suspect the cleaners just vacuum and not mop hardwood/tile floors. You can hear people walking upstairs. Probably why there are ear plugs in the night stand drawers. To get to the garbage/recycling cans, you have to go through the back yard. Sometimes the long term residents let their dog out in the backyard. Dog was friendly but just a warning to those who aren’t dog people. Parking can be a little difficult, but not impossible. When coming back at night, you may have to park a minimum block away, unless you get lucky. But that’s major city problems.
Overall this property was good. Location is great. Very safe neighborhood. Most of the cons are out of the hands of the property managers. Would recommend to people visiting chicago
