This is a great example of well kept traditional local hotel. Expect amenities of olden days yet clean, well thought out. The owner at front desk was super kind. We did spa next door and it was good experience as well.

Avoid if possible.

There is no "spa" in the hotel - but near the hotel an institution with a hot water pool. The night was very noisy, because of other guests - the hotel knew, but did nothing. It's a sad place, in the middle of nowhere.

Very clean and daily cleaning. Uncomfortable during the night since ondol heating system was too high and very hot during night time, uncomfortable sleep. Breakfast was not included althoigh on booking it seemed it was included.

Everything good except the sewer smell

The Hotel location was fine. The staff was very nice and friendly. The rooms seemed recently renovated. However, the room regrettably smelled like sewers, even with my poor sense of smell. We tried to turn on and off the bathroom fan and cover the water drains, but the smell remained.

The hotel is a bit old. The receptionist is helpful though she can only speak limited English. No dinner is served by the hotel. Local eatery is limited, only provide chicken with soup and rice. Not very impressive.

Faultless, simple hotel popular with locals

A well presented hotel popular with Korean business people. The spa is excellent. The staff were all as helpful and keen as they could possibly be, English is only spoken by a handful of the concierge team. We were particularly impressed with a young lady: "Yun". She went above and beyond to solve a predicament we found ourselves in, a level of care and service I have not seen in even the most established hotels of the western world.

Overall okay

We read that this hotel is located at the foot of the Mt Juwang and this isn't true! It was a good 15-20 minutes bus ride away from Mt Juwang! And we got a pretty bad scare. After a 4+ hour ride from Seoul, we arrived at Mt Juwang around 3pm+. We wanted to buy the last bus ticket to this hotel, which is leaving at 7pm+ but was told to come back later. So we proceeded to explore Mt Juwang. When we were back around 6pm+ we found out that the entire area was closed already. I called 1330 immediately to inquire on taxis but was told that they could only help book taxi if I'm in Seoul. What they offered was the contact of Cheongsong's taxi company which I have to make the call on my own!?? I seriously doubt they can speak English so we didn't. We hung around at the bus area till we see a bus and run forward to ask but it's not going to the direction of this hotel. There really wasn't much we could do except to wait, and finally a bus came and thank god bus driver said yes when we showed him our hotel booking. And after we alighted, we walked another 5-10 minutes to reach the hotel. We have booked the ondol room and it was really nice as it was freezing cold outside (thou it's only autumn). We were give discount vouchers for their hot spring next door, but we didn't use them in the end. Overall, amenities and conditions of hotel are acceptable, except for the location. It would be really nice if hotel itself provides shuttle bus services to-and-fro Mt. Juwang.
